SET UP/BIB PICKUP

May 25, 2024

Details

Set up tents, tables, barricades, banners at the start/finish line area. Assign bibs and assist with new registrations: Provide bibs to runners/walkers at bib up at West Chester Lagoon, Margaret Egan Park. Timing will provide iPad device to check in runners and walkers. Process includes 1) asking and entering their first name into device; 2) choosing the correct full name from selections; 3) giving them a bib from the bibs sorted by the two events; 4) entering the bib number on the next screen.

FINISHER MEDALS

Details

Stand at table beyond finish line and alert finishers to pick up medals. congratulate finishing runners/walkers and present them a medal/ribbon.
Help breakdown start/finish area after race.

AWARDS-FOOD-BREAKDOWN

Stand at table and stock food and beverage items for finishers.

CHEER SQUAD

Cheer runners as they approach and cross the finish line. Great volunteer opportunity for families or groups.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Take photos of runners, volunteers, and sponsors at start/finish line and on the course. Emphasis runners having fun. Photos people can relate to and make them want to participate.

Equipment & Supply Pick Up

Coordinate to pick up tables, time clock, barricades, signs, and supplies for race day.

Course Activities

BIKE LEADER

Details

Ride bicycle in front of lead runners. Guide them through course and turn around then back to the finish line.

Margaret Sullivan Park, West 15th Avenue, Westchester Lagoon to Davenport Park and back to Westchester Lagoon.

BIKE SWEEPS

May 25, 2024

Details

Ride bicycle and follow the last participant in the race. When returning from the Half Marathon turnaround let the aid station personnel know the last person has passed. Pick up signs as you return to finish line.
Note: You need a bike and pack for this task.

TURN A ROUND HALF MARATHON

Details

Stand at Half Marathon turn around point and let runners know that is where they turn and head back to Westchester Lagoon.

SET COURSE

Details

Ride bicycle with back pack and/or trailer to carry signs and stakes, surveyor tape and chalk to mark the course for runners. Mark the 10K and Half Marathon courses including turnarounds.

Aid Stations

AID STATION - ANTHC

Details

Half marathon aid station. Let them know there is a porta potty for their use.
One water and one Gatorade container provided along with 5gal jugs of water.
There are hand sanitizers, garbage bags, and latex gloves. Reduce touch points between you and the runners.

AID STATION - Davenport Park

10K aid station. Let them know there is a porta potty for their use.
One water and one Gatorade container provided along with 5gal jugs of water.
There are hand sanitizers, garbage bags, and latex gloves. Reduce touch points between you and the runners.
Stand at the 10K turn around point and let the 10K runners know that is where they turn and head back to Westchester Lagoon.
