Course Sentry

Sentry Worker

Details

Sentry workers will be stationed along the course to ensure that the kids stay on course.

Location

Check in near the stairs in the VBC South Hall Lobby at 9:45 AM to be given a location on the course and your volunteer shirt. All Sentry Workers are required to wear the Rocket City Marathon Volunteer Shirt. You will need to be in place at your assigned location no later than 10:15 AM.

Kids Reunion Area

Kids Reunion Area

Details

The Kids Reunion Area is where kids will reunite with their parents after the race. Your responsibilities include insuring each child is reunited with a parent or guardian. Each parent will provide a claim ticket from the kids race bib.

Location

Check in near the stairs in the VBC South Hall Lobby at 9:45 AM to receive instructions. The Kids Reunion Area is located in the South Hall near the Rocket City Marathon Medical Room.

Food Volunteers

Food Volunteers

Details

Assist in handing out food to the kids as they finish the race. This activities includes setting up the food station for the kids prior to the race.

Check in near the stairs in the VBC South Hall Lobby by 9:45 AM for directions.

Race Day Pacer

Pacers

Details

The pacers will run the 1 mile with the children and will be spread out throughout the race to ensure the safety of the kids and keep them on the course.  Pacers are responsible for all kids around them while they are pacing. Pacers are not allowed to only run with their kids.

Location

Pacers will need to be at the Pre-Race Briefing PROMPTLY at 9:45 AM in the VBC South Hall Lobby near the stairs. After the briefing the pacers should be ready to run. All pacers are required to wear the Rocket City Marathon Volunteer Shirt on course.

Run Sweeper

Run Sweeper High Priority

Details

This position runs behind the last runner.

Location

Check in near the stairs in the VBC South Hall Lobby by 9:45 AM. Sweeper will need to be on course no later than 10:15 AM.

Other Tasks

Finish Line Medium Priority

December 14, 2024

Details

This position will give out medals at the finish line and direct the runners to the Kids Reunion Area.
