We need 8 volunteers to man our check-in / aid stations. 3 of the stations will require a 4 wd vehicle, jeep or side by side. 1 of the stations is accessible by a regular vehicle. Volunteers will note race bib numbers and relay those numbers back to the burro home base and hand out refreshments.

Spotters High Priority

Details

4 spotters are needed to watch for racers making their way to the finish line. Bib numbers will be noted and relayed to the announcer's stand.

Pooper Scooper Low Priority

Details

We need a couple of volunteers to keep Main Street clear of donkey doo throughout the day.

Burro Camp Host High Priority

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

We are looking for a couple or family to be our Burro Camp Host. Camp hosts would have to be ready to check on campers by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12 - Friday, November 13 at 6 p.m. The camp host needs to have their own RV/tent and camping supplies.

Set Up Crew High Priority

Details

We need a herd of volunteers to help set up on Main Street at 6 a.m. on race day! Tasks include hanging banners, setting up the burro parking area, assisting with tent set up.

Tear Down Crew High Priority

Details

We need a herd of volunteers to help tear down and pack up on Main Street at 4:30 p.m. on race day. Tasks include taking down tents and banners. Breaking down portable corrals and general clean up.

Trailer Parking Attendant Medium Priority

Details

We need a volunteer to man the burro trailer parking area on race morning. The job is to insure that racers park their trucks and trailers so that no one is blocked in and they do not block the burro bus loading and unloading zone.

Course Marking High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

We need a herd of physically fit hiking enthusiasts to help mark our race course. Volunteers should be able to follow a map (gaia) and mark the course with flags and signage. This task will be done on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13.

LOST trail and sections of the Arizona Trail.

Course Clean up High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

We need a herd of volunteers to clean the course after the race, Sunday, November 15. All ribbons and signage must be removed and a general trash pick up done.

Burro Parking Attendant Low Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

We will need a minimum of 1 burro parking attendant per shift to keep the portable pens clean, clean and fill water buckets and make sure that spectators are not feeding the burros.

We need several volunteer photographers to capture the day for our racers.

Main Street & on the course.

Crowd Control Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

We will need 12 volunteers to help with crowd control for the start/finish of the race. Volunteers will need to help ensure that the street is cleared prior to the race start and when racers make their way to the finish line.
