Cheer & Donut Zone

Details

Please join other supporters at a designated cheer spot on the mid course to bring joy and support to our runners as they are in the hardest part of the 5k. To make it extra fun, we will also be handing out Dunkin munchkins to the participants. Fun costumes and noisemakers are always encouraged!

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable).

Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of
your shift. Return all supplies to Volunteer Check-In at the end of your shift.

Clean Up

Details

Volunteers can begin as soon as race ends.  Clean up includes removal of all signage and trash, pack supplies, and assisting the CKG team. Specific details regarding clean up will be given during race week.

First Aid

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Packet Pick-Up

Volunteers hand out packets, race bibs, and shirts  to registered runners.

Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Race Course Fun Zone (Rave Tent)

Details

Fun Zones are a unique part of the SpeakUp5k vision and include a special area that runners go through during the race. Volunteers will assist in the set up, management, and clean up of the Fun Zones.  The Rave Tent is a party like no other! Complete with festive decorations and loud music, the Rave Tent is a highlight of the race course.

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.

Race Course Marshals

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Key volunteers to keep participants on course and respond to emergencies, if necessary. Volunteers must be 16 or older and have a cell-phone with them.

Set Up Race Course

Volunteers assist in all parts of the course set up including placing signs, arrows, mile markers, yard and vendor signs, and the water station.

Water Station Mid Race

Volunteers set up and hand out water to participants at mid race point.  Perfect activity for kids and groups!

Fun Zone - Splash & Bubbles Zone

Details

Fun Zones are a unique part of the SpeakUp5k vision and include a special area that runners go through during the race. Volunteers will assist in the set up, management, and clean up of the Fun Zones. The Splash & Bubbles Zone provides lots of laughter and helps keep the participants “refreshed”. Volunteers will use water guns to squirt the participants – not in the faces.

All volunteers need to check-in to Volunteer Check-In 15 minutes prior to their shift starting. Volunteer Check-In will provide you with a nametag, directions, and special materials (if applicable). Please ensure that you are in the correct station by the start of your shift. At the end of your shift, please assist the CKG team in packing up the station.
