There will be three positions at each exchange 1) Time/Runner Exchange Monitor - record runner exchange times on exchange time sheet, ensure a clean exchange at proper exchange point, maintain exchange operation; 2) Spotter - calling out runners bib numbers to alert teams/exchange monitor on upcoming team exchange from 25-50 yards in front of exchange; 3) Van Monitor - ensure teams are parking vans in designated areas, runner and non-runner safety from traffic. (Not all exchanges will have Van Monitors)

Responsibilities: Set up exchange zone in accordance with exchange map, set up trash can with trash bag, unlock port-a-potty(run.Colorado Relay’s crew will provide you on how to do this), cheer on runners/teams, keep a fun/safe environment!

Each exchange will have its own Volunteer Exchange Notebook specific to that exchange when you arrive at your location. Please refer to the WWR Volunteer Handbook for additional rules, safety, do’s/dont’s, and for information about Wild West Relay.

Volunteers are stationed at Exchanges to act as Race Marshals. As Race Marshals, your primary responsibility will be to keep runners and volunteers safe at your exchange during your allotted time.
