Parking Attendant

1. Check in at the Volunteer table at 6:45 a.m. Wear Orange vest if given to you by staff.
2. Be at your designated spot by 7 a.m.

Course Marshal (individuals)

Volunteers can enjoy refreshments before or after shift and will receive a race t-shirt if signed up before 8-28-24 and they are scheduled to work for 1 1/2 hours or more.
1. Check in at the volunteer table between by 7:30.
2. You will be directed to meet with Life Stories staff member. After getting your assignment feel free to grab some refreshments and then meet back with the big group at 8 a.m. to ensure we have all spots covered and then proceed to your spots on the route. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.
3. Wear your orange vest while on the course if given to you by staff.
4. There is a yellow/white numbered sign on your spot on the route.
5. Your job is to direct the race participants if you are at an intersection and cheer them on!
6. Otherwise, be available for people if they have problems and to cheer them on!
7. If a participant has a need for medical attention, please contact the person designated on your call list as the Medical Support Coordinator, or call 911 for major emergencies.
8. When the race is over, someone will be by to let you know, be sure to bring back the numbered course marshal sign and orange vest to the volunteer table and remember to check out before leaving

Course Marshal Group

Your group will cheer runners along the route. Please have only one member sign up.
(If large group, you may be split up into smaller groups if necessary)

Feel free to come in costume or in uniforms for your group.

1. Check in at the volunteer table between by 7:30.

Run- Water Stations

Check in at volunteer table at 7:45 am and you will be directed to meet with a Life Stories staff member. Get your assignment and feel free to grab some refreshments and then go to your spot on the route.
1. Be at the water station by 8:15 am. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.
2. Fill plastic cups with water before runners come by
3. Hand cups to runners who want them
4. After the runners and walkers have gone by throw cups in trash bin
5. Someone will be by to let you know when the race is over.
6. Please be sure to stop by the Volunteer Table to check out before leaving
There are 2 time slots - the shorter is for the 5K/10K, the longer are for the 2 10K only tables

Directing Runners to starting line

2) They will direct you to meet a staff member at the Kids Fun Run by the Carnival
3) Some volunteers will help with the start and some at the end
4) All volunteers will help clean up silly string after the kids run.

Volunteers can enjoy refreshments before or after shift and will receive a race t-shirt if signed up before 8-28-24 and they are scheduled to work for 1 1/2 hours or more.
1. All 5K/10K/1M registered participants will be entered into the door prize drawing.
2. At about 8:45 am, Life Stories Staff will do the drawing for the door prizes and post the winning numbers on the display board.
3. As people finish the race, they will come to see if they won anything.
4. Hand out prizes after confirming BIB # with winning #. (note, door prizes are for 10K, 5K and 1 M registrations only – not kids run)

Face Painting Medium Priority

1. Allow child to choose what they would like on their face from the options available.
2. Watch the line, if you have a lot of children waiting don’t do ornate, complicated paintings that will take a lot of time
3. Allow children to look at themselves in the mirror to check out your great work

Carnival Medium Priority

Volunteers can enjoy refreshments before or after shift and will receive a race t-shirt if signed up before 8-28-24 and they are scheduled to work for 1 1/2 hours or more.
1) Check in at volunteer check in table at 8:30 a.m.
2) They will direct you to meet a staff member by the Carnival Area.
3) A volunteer will be stationed at each game area.
4) Volunteer will run the game - this includes showing children how to play the game, monitoring the game, giving out prizes.
4) All volunteers will help clean up games after carnival closes.
5) Check out at the volunteer check in table

1-Mile Timing Crew High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

3) Volunteer will help our timer with keeping track of the order of 1-Mile racers crossing the finish line.
