Setup tents, tables, signs, and other items needed to get Ballard Park ready for the masses. Site coordinator will have site plan/map. Tents will already be in placed and staked by rental company the day before.

Course Marshals & Safety

Course Marshals High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Assist with directing runners for both kids and adult races.
Work with RPD to help spectators safely cross certain intersections (like Governor & East Ridge). Reports to Operations and Safety Coordinator and must wear fluorescent pinny (provided). Must be 18 years old to be a Course Marshal.

Meet initially at fire truck for briefing (You'll see it! It's displaying an American flag from the ladder)

Water and food stations

Water Station - Ridgefield Playhouse Medium Priority

Details

Help fill cups and pass out water to runners.
Be prepared to get a little wet (feet and hands, mostly). Clean up and tear down after runners have passed through the final time.

Assist in passing out water and food to participants after the race. *May* need to slice bagels into smaller pieces (knives and cutting board provided).

Starting Line Help High Priority

Details

Help at the start area to corral runners, clear the race course (parking lot part) of spectators as runners come through, herd spectators, and assist with communication between the race director (Casey) and emcee (Megan), and other volunteers. Pass out finisher ribbons at the end of the kids' race.
