Details

Course marshals are needed to help keep our 5K runners and walkers safe through the duration of the 5K. Volunteers will need to be able to communicate effectively with race participants about any approaching traffic at residential intersections along the run route. Volunteers are needed to notify race staff if a runner is in distress or needs to report any serious concerns. Course marshals/ Chaplains are also our primary cheerleaders and motivators along the run route for all 5K participants!

On the morning of the event, under the guidance of a Volunteer Leader countless activities must be carried out to ensure a smooth event, including:

Moving, and setting up the areas for registration, erecting signs, hanging banners, setting up tables, chairs, and small tents.

Other responsibilities include moving objects of varying weights

Medals & Water Station High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Join the action at the finish line! As a Medals & Water Station Volunteer, you’ll keep participants hydrated by handing out water and help celebrate their achievement by giving out medals. This role is all about encouragement, high energy, and making sure every walker and runner feels supported and celebrated.

Help participants have a smooth start to their SPEF 5K Walk & Run experience! As a Registration Floater/Assistant, you’ll support the registration area by greeting participants, answering questions, and directing them to the correct check-in lines or event stations. A friendly smile and willingness to assist are all that’s needed—no prior experience required.
