Park at the Cusick Creek parking area just a short distance from the Pocatello Women's Correctional Facility. Follow the trail that is a two-track, and you will find the aid station at the second creek crossing about 1.5 miles (plus or minus).

Elk Meadows Aid Station Volunteer

Work with aid station captain to setup, provide support for runners and take down station after closing. This is a remote aid station and the runners will be coming through starting around midnight. You should probably plan on going in on the evening of 6/5/26 and spending the night. There are two signup times and the second one you could come in early if you prefer. Detailed duties are laid out in the SMU Captains Hand Book. The captain will have a copy to refer to at the aid station.

If you have a 4-wheel drive most years you can drive into the aid station. If not or you would prefer to walk the best access is from the West Fork trailhead. It is about 5 miles. Follow West Fork to the gate, ( 3.8m). Take a left and follow the double track. The whole route will be flagged all the way to the aid station. You will have one intersection and stay to the left.

The best way to access this aid station is to go to the top of East Fork road to the East Fork trailhead. The trailhead is all the way back behind the overflow campground. Follow this trail back about a mile. You will come to an intersection. Go left and the trail if flagged the rest of the way to the aid station about another mile.
