In the week leading up to Top of Tamarack, volunteers will help with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks — from preparing awards and organizing signage to loading the trailer and handling other event prep. It’s a mix of miscellaneous jobs that make race day possible, and every helping hand makes a difference!

Memorial Mile Flower Crew

Details

Join us at Lovely Hollow Farm, who generously donates all the flowers for the Memorial Mile, and help gather blooms that will line this special part of the course. This is a hands-on, relaxed way to contribute to the event, enjoy the outdoors, and see the impact of your efforts as participants pass by the flowers on race day.

Pre-race Setup & Check-In

Details

Help setup for race start including setting up tables, aid station and distributing race bibs/timing chips to racers that have not yet picked up packets. It also may require some assistance with clean up after the runners have started the race.

Retail Booth Medium Priority

Details

The course take down involves help removing all signage, garbage, and flowers from the race course. This happens directly after the race, before the Oktoberfest. The more we have, the quicker we will be off the mountain!

Event Announcer

Details

Help keep the energy high and participants informed by serving as the event announcer. You’ll use the PA system to share key updates, make important announcements, introduce speakers, and cheer on finishers as they cross the line. A clear voice and outgoing personality are helpful, and we’ll provide the talking points and schedule.

Photographers & Videographers High Priority

Details

Help us capture the magic of Top of Tamarack! Volunteers in this role will take photos and/or video footage throughout the event. Content will be used for social media, our website, recap videos, and to share the spirit of the day with our community. If you enjoy telling stories through a lens and want to help showcase the energy, emotion, and connection of the race, we’d love to have you on the team.

Aid Station 1 - Start/Finish Line Assistants

These volunteers will help hand out water and swag to finishing participants and offer aid as needed. Most of all, these assistants should be loud cheerleaders, rooting for participants to finish strong!

Chillville Raffle Crew

Details

Bring the energy to Chillville! Help recognize spectators who are going above and beyond in cheering by handing out raffle tickets and assisting with prize distribution. This role is great for outgoing volunteers of all ages, including kids and teens, who love connecting with people and keeping the excitement high.

Are you willing to volunteer your ATV in addition to yourself to the event? Great! We are looking for volunteers that would be willing to help transport volunteers, participants and materials for course set up on Friday and also for Saturday for the event. We are grateful for your help!

Course Teardown Crew High Priority

Help us wrap up Top of Tamarack by joining the Course Teardown Crew! These volunteers are responsible for packing up race-day items, taking down signage, loading gear, and making sure the resort is left as beautiful as we found it. It’s perfect for those who want to sleep in on race morning but still be part of the fun. Your help ensures everything is organized and ready so we can do it all again next year!

Course Sweep

Details

Be part of the Top of Tamarack magic as a course sweep! You’ll be transported to the summit, then run or hike down the course, collecting flagging and picking up any trash along the way. This is a great way to log some downhill miles, enjoy epic views, and help us leave the mountain better than we found it.
