Sign In / Registration Tent High Priority

Details

Two to three people needed to assist with check in, direct people to the start line (especially if we have to move the location for the run), hand out the swag bag. We will have onsite registration, no cash, all online. Need to be at site by 11 am to set up. Depending on weather will either be outside on the patio or when brewery opens, set up indoors. Will need to bring notebook or PC.

Weiner person High Priority

Details

This person will work at the Hot Dog table, if you have a camp stove or grill (one will be available), that is perfect as you will prepare and bunup the weinie. Maintain the condiment table, try to be pleasant. This event is rain or shine, be prepared for weather!

"Bar" tenders Medium Priority

Details

Our "bar" tenders will be at the halfway point of the race. They will be present to serve coffee, water, other beverages, donuts, and snacks for all participants. They will also be there to provide directions for those who may get lost or wish to go to the brewery for a mid-race "break." IMPORTANT NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO ALCOHOL ON THE COURSE, NO AGE LIMIT FOR THIS GROUP - THEY WILL BE HANDING OUT COFFEE, WATER, ANY OTHER BEVERAGES WE MAY PICK UP.

Race Starter High Priority

Details

Would prefer either a USATF or IHSAA certified official. Would oversee the start of the race using proper mechanics - we do have a reputation to uphold! Event is rain or shine, plan appropriately.

Unofficial/Official Event Photographer Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

While the host (Barry) will do as much as I can, always good to have a backup - will take photos of participants to document the event. Will also need to be available at the end of the event for runners to take pictures with their championship trophy! It's a fun event, have fun but prepare for October weather - we are rain or shine.

Race Clerk High Priority

Details

Be present at starting line to make sure everyone is ready to "run." Work with registration area and starter. Race is scheduled for 1 PM but we procrastinate everything so it will probably be closer to 1:15. If numbers require, we may stagger starts. It is a rain or shine event, please plan accordingly with appropriate costume.

"Umpires" Medium Priority

Details

Need four "umpires." Their function is to be located along the turns of the course to make sure runners know where to go. Flags will be provided, Umpires will have canopies and will also staff the various "rest" stops throughout the course.

One umpire, corner at turn to head south on area near Broad
One umpire, corner at turn on end of grass lot to head east to alley
One umpire, this umpire will enforce the penalty box area and be available to help out any runner who may be in "distress."
