Set up Cones and Mile Markers

This will involve some chalk drawings and chalk spray painting on Burroughs Creek Trail and at South Park.

Help pass out T-Shirts to participants. Help those who have pre-registered to check-in. Help those who haven't pre-registered to sign up & check in.

Race Day Events

Course Marshal

May 27, 2024

Details

The most important part of the run! The volunteer Course Marshals. Each intersection will require 2 volunteers - at least one of them must be an adult. Each volunteer will have a bright t-shirt to wear to identify themselves as a volunteer and those who will be course marshals on the street will also have a reflector vest that will need to be returned at the end of the event.

Great opportunity to serve as a family!
Cheer on the runners - make signs and bring noise makers!
If serving along a street with cars, may have to stop cars to allow safety of runners as they pass.

General Race-day Help

Often we will have race day gaps. If you sign up here, you are willing to be deployed wherever needed on the day of the race!

Kids Activities

Details

Bouncy house(s) will need to be monitored to let kids in and out.

Help to coordinate Fun run for little kids too young to run the 5K. It's short!

Mid Race Water Stop

May 27, 2024

Details

Mid Race Water stop will be located at Burrough's Creek Trail Roundabout at 15th Street - set up water cups for runners and collect discarded cups for disposal.

Post-Race Food table

May 27, 2024

Details

Will set up and serve runners with donated food items. Keep area clean. Visit, congratulate, encourage and thank participants!

Finish Line Water Stop

Details

Prep water tank with ice and water bottles. Pass out water bottles to participants as they finish race

Finish Line Chip Removal

May 27, 2024

Details

Each participant will have a timing chip on their shoes. Each of those will need to be returned to the timing company, so this job will be to secure the chips once a participant has crossed the finish line! AND also say words of encouragement and appreciation!

Tear Down

Take Down and clean up

Details

Break down all tables and chairs and return them to under the gazebo
Remove all signs and banners
Collect all remaining tshirts for return to Family Promise Day Center
Bagging up any overflow garbage bags for disposal

Collect all Cones, Mile Markers and Family Promise signs on course

Recycling

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Collect all water bottles and any other recycling items, and take them to an appropriate recycling bin after the event
