Course Monitor

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Required arrival time - 4:15 pm
Estimated end time - 6:30 pm
Course monitors will be along the race route, directing runners/walkers and cheering them on. Course monitors will have assistance of Wichita Police Department at major intersections, but will need to be comfortable assisting with stopping/releasing traffic to coincide with runners and walkers that pass through.

Medal Handout

Minimum met.

Volunteers for the Medal Handout will be tasked with giving participants medals as they come across the finish line.

Water Station

Minimum met.

Estimated end time - 6:30 pm
Volunteers for the Water Station will be tasked with setting up the water station (filling water cups) prior to the race start. Additionally, these volunteers will be tasked with offering water to participants as they come along the race route and ensuring new water cups are filled as they are used up. This volunteer group will also pick up water cups to ensure no trash is left behind and breakdown the water station after the last runner/walker has passed by.

Parking volunteers will be tasked with directing event participants as they arrive.

Registration/Check In

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 6 more volunteers needed.

Details

Required arrival time - 3:00 pm
Estimated end time - 5:30 pm
Registration/Check in volunteers will be tasked with checking in participants and registering those wishing to sign up the day of the event. This will include ensuring participants who have pre-registered receive correct desired tshirt size and chip timing packets. Additionally, volunteers will need to ensure all who register the day of receive a numbered chip timing packet and that the packet number coincides with their registration number.

Event Setup

At least 12 more volunteers needed.

Estimated end time - 5:00 pm
Event setup volunteers will be assisting with the set up of tables, tents, signs, trash receptacles etc needed for the event. There may be some medium to heavy lifting involved in this task.

Event Breakdown

At least 13 more volunteers needed.

Event breakdown volunteers will be assisting with the break down of tables, tents, signs, trash receptacles etc necessary after the event. There may be some medium to heavy lifting involved in this task.
