50M Course Sweepers - Leg 1 Low Priority

FOR RUNNERS/HIKERS ONLY.

The Leg 1 sweepers will "sweep" the first 25 miles of the race. You must be willing and able to run or hike 25 miles.

As the Leg 1 sweeper you will NOT be pulling down any course marking. This is a safety role. Your job: ensure no runner gets behind you.

This is a critical role in ensuring all runners remain on time and accounted for.

You'll be starting with the racers at the Sheltowee Camp and running to the turnaround point at the 49er aid station. We will give you a ride back to base camp when you are done with your leg.

FOR RUNNERS/HIKERS ONLY.

The Leg 2 sweepers will "sweep" the second quarter of the race. You must be willing and able to run or hike 25 miles.

Leg 2 sweepers will be responsible for keeping runners on time and on course.

Make sure no runner ever gets behind you!

Also, you will be taking down our course markings as you go. This is important as we strive to LEAVE NO TRACE!

This is a critical role in ensuring all runners remain on time and accounted for.

Your leg will begin at Cumberland Falls State Park and end at the Sheltowee Camp in Laurel County.

You'll be starting from the 49er aid station and following the last runner back to the finish line. Report to Sheltowee Camp, we will give you a ride to the 49er, and you'll run back.

- Operating the timing system
- Monitoring communications with aid stations
- Operating our runner tracking system
- Interacting with volunteers to make sure they get where they need to be.
- Assisting runners as they finish the race.
