Details

Volunteers will be responsible for pouring water into cups, handing it out to the participants, replenishing empty cups as needed and cleaning up the area once finished. You will be provided with two tables, 5-gallon water jugs, cups, gloves, garbage bags, a rake, and receptacles. A course official, who follows behind the last participant, will let the water station know their task has been completed.

Start Line Water Station High Priority

Details

Volunteers will be filling up cups of water prior to the race for participants near the start line. After the race starts this will become the finish water stop. Once the race is completed, please empty any remaining filled cups, and clean up any necessary trash.

Finish Line & Post-Race Festival - Set Up and Tear Down Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers are responsible for assisting with the setup of the finish line, which includes constructing the truss structure, placing barricades, and distributing all necessary signage. A staff member will be present to coordinate this task. Upon the completion of the race, volunteers will assist in dismantling the setup and returning materials to the equipment manager.

Race Day Packet Pick-up and Registration Low Priority

Details

This Volunteer Task is password-protected for staff members and the NOTC Board of Directors. Volunteers will be responsible for checking in participants by searching for their names or scanning their confirmation QR codes using the RunSignUp app. Subsequently, they will assign participants their race bibs while ensuring that their personal information is verified for any discrepancies. Kindly report any modifications or errors to the race timer or director.

Race Day Giveaways/Shirts Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for handing out race giveaways/shirts to registered participants. If it is a sized item, they will be given the size they requested when registering online. Participants will ONLY be able to switch out their sized item until after the race has completed. No exceptions. If applicable, the size of the item will be written on the back of the participant's race bib.

Any issues should be referred to the volunteer coordinator or race director.

Racewalker & Volunteer Check-In Low Priority

This volunteer will be responsible for checking in racewalker participants and volunteers at the event. This is a password protected task only for NOTC staff or board of directors.

Friday Pre-Race Packet Pick-up Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for checking in participants by looking up their names or by scanning their confirmation QR codes on our RunSignUp app. Then the volunteer can proceed by assigning them their race bib while making sure they check their personal information for any error. They will also hand out the participants race shirt or giveaway item along with a possible goody bag.

Finish Line Water Station High Priority

Volunteers will be responsible for filling water and Gatorade cups to hand out to participants who finish the race. After the race, please empty any remaining filled cups and clean up any necessary trash. Leave the trash next to the water station location, as a staff member will come by to pick it up.

Gear Check High Priority

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for handing out, marking the participants race number on the outside of gear bag (sharpies will be provided), and placing the gear bag in the correct bin according to race number. Gear bags are only for participants that wish to check personal items at the start of the race that can be retrieved at the end of the race.

Once the race starts, a NOTC staff member will come by and pick up the bins filled with the bags and bring them to the finish line. Upon arrival, they will then place gear bags in the correct number sequence along the ground. This makes it easy for volunteers to find the correct gear bag when the participant arrives to pickup.
