Early Packet Pickup - Monday Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for checking in participants by looking up their names or by scanning their confirmation QR codes on our RunSignUp app. Then assigning them their race bib while making sure they check their personal information for any errors. Please report any edits to the timer or race director.

Volunteers will be handing out race giveaways to participants. If it is a sized item, they will be given the size they requested when they registered. You will pull the giveaway tab on the participants BIB once he or she has received their giveaway. Participants will only be able to switch out their sized item until after the race has completed. Any issues should be referred to the volunteer coordinator or race director.

Make sure to see welcome or check-in desk to receive a parking pass to lot across the street from NOAC.

Lead Bike Medium Priority

Details

This volunteer is responsible for leading the runners along the racecourse and making sure it is clear. You will also radio the finish line team when the first male and female approach the stadium grounds.

Start Line Set Up & Break Down High Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival.

Volunteers will be responsible for setting up the start line that includes the inflatable arch, signage, barricades and all of the necessary materials that are needed. After the event has begun, you will then help tear down everything you helped set up. If you have any questions, please see the operations manager or race director.

Finish Line Set Up/Tear Down High Priority

Volunteers will help set up the finish line structure, place barricades, and put out all necessary signage. After the last person finishes the race, you will then break down everything you helped put up and bring materials to the equipment manager located at the NOTC Truck.

Volunteers will be responsible for directing runners the correct way at certain key points throughout the course. You will be designated a set location to carry out this task.

This volunteer will be making important announcements throughout the event. Once the race is completed, this person will conduct the award ceremony.

Course Set Up/Tear Down Medium Priority

Volunteers will be responsible for setting up the course with cones, mile markers, directional signs, and dropping off water station materials. You will then follow the last participant on course picking up all of the materials and trash along the route.

Parking Assistants Low Priority

Details

Make sure to check in at the volunteer table upon arrival.

Will need at least two people to coordinate the efficient parking of 170 vehicles within the Tad Gormley Parking lot that is off of Marconi. Also ensure that people do not park on the neutral ground (median) because if they do, they will get tickets.

Finisher's Medals Medium Priority

Volunteers will be responsible for handing out finisher medals as participants compete the event.

Water Stations

Water Station #2 High Priority

November 28, 2024

Details

Volunteers will be responsible for pouring water into cups, handing it out to the participants, replenishing empty cups as needed and cleaning up the area once finished. You will be provided with two tables, 5-gallon water jugs, cups, gloves, garbage bags, a rake, and receptacles. A course official, who follows behind the last participant, will let the water station know their task has been completed.

Water Station #1 High Priority

Details

Must be able to lift up to 5-gallon jugs of water.

Volunteers will be responsible for filling and replenishing cups of water prior to the race for participants near the start line. After the race starts, you will then clean up any trash that has accumulated and then head into the stadium to man the finish line water station next to the Kentwood water truck. Once the race is completed, please empty any remaining filled cups, and clean up any necessary trash.

This volunteer will be responsible for taking pictures throughout the entire event including pre-race, during, and post-race. You will also be tasked to take pictures of the award ceremony. After the race is completed, return the camera and SD card to a NOTC staff member.
