Calling all High School Students in need of Service Hours or adults to stand along the 5K route to help guide runners safely and keep them on the correct path, while also bringing energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to our runners, many of whom are elementary school age, as you direct them and cheer them on along the course. This role is ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors, supporting others, and helping ensure a smooth, positive race experience. We need you rain or shine to ensure a safe and fun 5k!

Calling all High School Students in need of Service Hours or adults to man our water station on the 5K route while also bringing energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to our runners, many of whom are elementary school age, as you direct them and cheer them on along the course. You will prep our water station by filling paper cups with water before the race and will fill new cups as needed throughout the race to ensure all runners are able to access water when they reach the station. You will hand cups to the runners as they run by. Hydration and keeping the runners in high spirits are your priority! We need you rain or shine to ensure a safe and fun 5k!

Calling Middle School and High School Students in need of Service Hours to stand along the Fun Run course to encourage and motivate young runners as they make their way through our Deer Dash Fun Run course. With big smiles, loud cheers, props (i.e. bubbles, signs) and positive energy, you will help create a fun and supportive atmosphere for every child. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys uplifting kids and being part of this exciting community event!

We need a runner to lead the Fun Run Course, which is two laps around the Deer Crossing Elementary recess yard, estimating about a 1 mile for our youngest runners. Lead with enthusiasm and help make the event wonderful and fun for our young runners!

After the race and award ceremony, we need help with clean up! Tasks include returning tables to their original location, making sure any trash near the finish area is picked up, etc. This role can be an independent sign up or a second role taken on by someone who volunteered during the event who would like an additional hour (or slightly more) added to their ESS form.
