Details

Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them at all times.
DO NOT go to the race site -- please park your vehicle in front or near 12115 Trailridge Drive, Potomac which is 100+ft away from the water stop. You will set up on the grass.

8:15 am: Medical volunteer will be stationed within earshot of the water stop on Trailridge Drive, Potomac, MD.

8:45 am: Food set up must be complete.
10:15 am: Begin consolidating.
10:30 am: Team to clean up and take supplies to the MCRRC van.

Youth Runs Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them at all times.
7:30 am: Volunteer Check In. Assist at the YOUTH RUN REGISTRATION TABLE (hand out bibs/pins).

8:35 am: Youth Run will begin. Perhaps be a "rabbit" to lead participants on either run (½ mile or 1 mile) OR be a "caboose". Then distribute refreshments at the finish line to these participants. At 8:35 am, we must have AT LEAST THREE VOLUNTEERS.

Course Marshal High Priority

Details

Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them at all times.
7:15 am: Volunteer Check In. Receive assignment details.
8:00 am: or 8:15 at the least, you MUST be at delegated post. (You may need to drive to your post).
8:30 am: Start time for both 5k &10k.
8:35 am: Start time for Youth Run (1/2mile & 1mile) at the park's loop only.
Cheer on runners as they whiz by you, but most importantly, direct them on the correct course route.
One or two Course Sweeper volunteers will notify you of the last few participants.
Then please consolidate all nearby race equipment (yellow CAUTION signs if any, cones, arrows, mile markers, CM vests, CM flags) at your corner so it will be easy for the "course cleanup crew" to grab OR please bring back to the park to place next to the MCRRC van.

Start & Finish Line Support High Priority

Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them at all times.
PRE-RACE: Help set up the Start/Finish area at Falls Road Local Park: 12600 Falls Road, Potomac.
8:30 am: Start time for both 5k & 10k.
8:35 am: Start time for Youth Run (1/2mile & 1mile) at the park's loop only.
DURING RACE: Direct 5k runners to finish; direct 10k runners @ turnaround point; collect chips at the end of the finish line chute; help keep runners safe around the finish area. At the end of the event, break down finish line area.

Parking Team High Priority

Please note that the parking lot is ALL ONE WAY.

6:30 - 8:25 am Team: Need five (5) or six (6) volunteers for parking. Bring headlamp and/or flashlight.

Water Stop

Set up cups for Gatorade first, water next.
Fill each cup with the appropriate fluid to no more than half a cup.
8:30 am: Race Start & station must be complete. One loop= 5k; two=10k.

Gear Shop Sales

Details

This volunteer will staff a table at the race site and sell MCRRC gear (shirts, shorts, socks, etc.). You'll be provided with a gear kit that includes items to sell, a credit card reader, a price list, and complete instructions. Ideally, set up before or during the race, then be ready to sell as runners are finishing. At the conclusion of the event, everything should go back in the gear kit, including cash from sales. The kit should go on the truck to be returned to the warehouse. You'll be contacted before the race to go over the protocol and answer any questions you have. If you're good with people and organized, this is a good job for you!
