Help direct cars as people arrive in the parking area, to get everyone safely parked before the race. You get to wave a flag!

Volunteer Check-In

Details

Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult with them at all times.
6:30 am: Pick up coffee and donuts for the other volunteers. The order will be paid for in advance; all you have to do is pick it up.
6:45 am: Set up coffee/donuts for the volunteers at the race start area. As volunteers arrive, check them off your list and direct them to their post. Give vests and orange flags to parking volunteers and course marshals.

Registration

Details

Help people pick up their bibs. Make sure they pin their number to the front of their clothing and tie their chip to their shoe before the race.

Gear Shop Sales

Details

** Please contact staff@mcrrc.org after signing up, for guidance.
This volunteer will staff a table at the race site to sell MCRRC shirts, shorts, and other gear, accepting payment via cash and credit card (using a credit card reader). Ideally, set up during the race and be ready to go as the first runners are finishing. Then pack up whatever doesn't sell as the event concludes, and put the box on the truck to go back to the warehouse.

Start/Finish Line

Details

Help set up the start/finish area. As runners finish, collect chips from non-members at the end of the finish line chute and drop them in the bucket. Help keep runners safe around the finish area by encouraging them to clear the area so other finishers don't run them over. At the end of the event, help break down finish line area.

Course Marshal

Details

You'll be posted on the race course, either at a location with a junction where runners will count on you to direct them, or at a spot where they could use some encouragement. Arrive by 7 am and check in with the volunteer coordinator, then go to your assigned post. You must be in position by 7:30 am. Cheer for the runners as they pass and boost their spirits!

Water Stop

Details

Hand out water and Gatorade to thirsty runners and help pick up the cups afterward. To prevent spills, fill each cup no more than halfway. Have everything set up by 7:30 am. After the race, clean up the area so we can leave the trail in perfect condition!

Medical

Refreshments

Details

Set up food for runners to enjoy after the race. Open boxes of granola bars, separate bananas, etc. and help pack everything up at the end.

Course Sweeper/Cleanup

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

After the last runner goes through, run the course and pick up road tape/signage/MCRRC cones/flags as you go. Tell each course marshal and the water stop volunteers that you're the sweeper so they can start cleaning up and heading back to the start/finish area. You can leave large items with the water stop since a vehicle will be meeting them.

Truck Unloading

Meet at the MCRRC warehouse after the race. We expect to be back there by 10 am but will update.
