Thank You for Volunteering – Water Stop Info
We’re so grateful to have you helping out! Most island volunteer spots are best suited for folks who live on the islands or are already staying there. If that’s not you and you need a ride from the mainland, please let us know ASAP — we’re only able to assist with transport to Peaks Island. If you’re assigned to another island and aren’t already there, it likely won’t be feasible.
When you arrive at your water stop, it should already be set up. You’ll find two coolers: one with water and one with electrolytes. If they aren’t labeled, a quick taste will tell you which is which. Athletes bring their own flasks or cups — we’re a cupless race — so your job is mostly to cheer them on and help if needed.
Gels are there as a backup, and athletes can take one, but we ask they don’t stock up. If your station has snacks, feel free to let athletes know to help themselves. Please keep the area tidy as best you can. We have to leave the course as clean or cleaner than we found it : )
If someone needs medical attention or decides to drop out, text or call Trista at (917) 975-2311. For any emergencies, always call 911 first. You can also text Trista with any general questions or if you need more water.
A few quick reminders:
• Don’t worry if you don’t know an answer — you can check otilloswimrun.com or ask Trista but please don’t answer a question unless you are sure.
• Teams must stay together the entire race (this is a common question).
• Once the final athletes have passed, someone from our team will come by to clear the stop. If you think you’ve seen everyone but haven’t been relieved yet, please text Trista to confirm before leaving.
Thanks again — your support makes this event possible, and we couldn’t do it without you!
Location
Copy and paste these coordinates for the location of the water stop:
43.7206, -70.13968
Chebeague (Indian Point)
Here’s the Google Maps course link:

You can copy and paste it into your browser. Once it’s open, zoom in on your assigned island to find your water stop — it will be marked near a water spigot.
This is a live map, so if you open it while you’re on-site, your location will show up as a blue dot. That way, you can see exactly where you are and navigate to your water stop, even if the coordinates alone aren’t enough.
