Volunteers are needed on Saturday, November 12 for the
2022 Hobbiton Beer Run to benefit Benton Harbor Public Library Children's Department.
• Must be dependable, friendly and have a good attitude.
• Must be able to work outdoors in any type of weather condition.
• Must be able to follow instructions and be ON TIME for your position!
• Youth under the age of 15 should volunteer with a parent/guardian for this event.
• Volunteers should stay at their post for the entire race, but some shorter shifts may be available.

• If you have time constraints, please provide details in the comments section.
• You may add a preference in the comments when registering. But keep in mind that the majority of volunteers are needed on the race course.
• If there is someone you would like to volunteer with or near, please include their name and we will try to accommodate. They will also need to register to volunteer.
10:30 am Report for assignment and volunteer meeting

Course Set up and Sweeper 10:30a – 1:30p - Volunteers will be at their post for the entire race.
DUTIES: Help mark the course with signage and traffic cones. Follow the last walker on the course on foot with a wagon, or by car/truck with a partner. Pick up signage and traffic cones.
SKILLS: Some lifting. Able to drive, or walk a 3.1 mile course.
Start Finish Line 11:00a – 1:30p
DUTIES: Direct cars to parking areas, and participants to the registration area. Move participants to the start line. Ensure participants have a race bib secured on the front of their body. Set up the refreshment table. Take photos at the start/finish line. Help with scoring at finish line.
SKILLS: Loud clear voice, outgoing personality. Some lifting. Able to walk and stand for about a 2.5 hour shift.
Course Monitor 11a - 1:30p - Volunteers should stay at their post for the entire race, but shorter shifts may be available.
DUTIES: Direct runners and walkers keeping them on course using voice and flag.
SKILLS: Loud clear voice, outgoing personality. No lifting. Able to walk and stand for a 1.5 hour shift.
