Kayakers High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 20 more volunteers needed.

Details

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING AS KAYAK SUPPORT FOR A SPECIFIC SWIMMER

Any kayaker who has CPR and first aid experience appreciated but not required.

We are looking for highly experienced kayakers! Kayaking around the island isn't like swimming in your grandpa's back yard pond. Waves can be 3-5 feet waves. We don't want to have to rescue you! We will move you to the front of the list if you are staying on the island or are very experienced.

You may want to bring along your own nutrition and hydration and may want to strongly consider an umbrella or something to protect from the sun. Please also consider the weather and whether you may need to bring a sweatshirt or poncho for rain.

If you sign up as a kayaker we are assuming you will volunteer for the entire length of the event (up to 8 hours). If you would like to kayak for a smaller length of time, please consider a buddy system where you trade on and off with another volunteer. If this is your plan, please notify us before signing up.
