The 1-Mile Course Sweeper serves as the final participant on the course, following the last runner or walker to ensure everyone safely completes the route. This volunteer helps monitor the back of the pack and communicates with race staff if assistance is needed. The sweeper's primary responsibility is to make sure no one is left behind and that all participants have crossed the finish line before the course is officially cleared and closed.
