Details

Help ensure a safe and successful race by assisting along the course for the 2-mile, 5K, and 5-mile run. Volunteers will be stationed at various points along the route to:

* Direct runners and walkers along the course;
* Monitor intersections and assist with light traffic control as needed to assist participants;
* Cheer on participants (dogs included!) and help keep the energy high;

Your specific location on the course will be assigned prior to race day and sent via email. Please be sure to check your email for details.

ARRIVAL TIME: Please be in place at your assigned location by 7:00 A.M.
VOLUNTEER TIME: Approximately 7:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M.

You may bring a chair, but once the race begins this role requires standing outdoors for the duration of the race.

This is a great opportunity for neighborhoods along the route to get involved.

Registration Volunteer High Priority

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Help ensure a smooth start to race day by assisting with participants check-in and registration at Kamper Park. Volunteers may assist wtih:

* Checking in participants and confirming registration;
* Distributing race packets, bibs, and materials;
* Answering basic questions and directing participants as needed;
* Helping keep the registration area organized and running efficiently

ARRIVAL TIME: 5:30 A.M.
VOLUNTEER TIME: 5:30 A.M. - 7:30 A.M.

This role requires early arrival, attention to detail, and working in a busy, fast-paced environment prior to the race start.

Start Line - Volunteer High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Help kick off the race by assisting with setup and organization at the Start Line at Kamper Park. With over 600 participants (and plenty of dogs!), this is a high-energy and very important role to ensure a smooth and safe start. Volunteers may assist with:

* Setting up the start line area, including the start trellis and signage;
* Helping organize participants at the start line;
* Assisting with crowd control and directing runners and walkers into position;
* Providing general support to participants to ensure an orderly and timely race start.


ARRIVAL TIME: 6:00 A.M.
VOLUNTEER TIME: 6:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M.

This role requires standing, moving around, and working in a busy, high-energy environment.

Finish Line Festival Area - Setup Volunteer High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Help bring the event to life by assisting with setup of the Finish Line Festival Area at Kamper Park. This is the main gathering space where participants enjoy food, entertainment, sponsor booths, and awards after the race. Volunteers may assist with:

* Setting up tables, tents and signage;
* Organizing food and drink stations;
* Assisting sponsors with booth setup;
* General event setup as needed

Assignments and specific instructions will be provided upon arrival on race day.

ARRIVAL TIME: 5:30 A.M.
VOLUNTEER TIME: Approximately 5:30 A.M. - 8:00A.M. (or until setup is complete)

This role requires lifting, carrying, and being active during setup.

Finish Line (During Race) Medium Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Be a part of the excitement at the finish line! Volunteers in this role will help welcome participants as they complete the race and assist with post-race activities. Volunteers may assist with:

* Handing out finisher medals;
* Distributing water and cooling cloths;
* Helping guide participants through the finish area to the festival area;
* Cheering on runners and walkers as they cross the finish line;

ARRIVAL TIME: 7:00 A.M.
VOLUNTEER TIME: 7:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. (or until the last participant crosses the finish line)

This role requires standing and being active during the race.

Food & Beverage Volunteer High Priority

Help Keep our participants refreshed by assisting with food and drink service in the Finish Line Festival Area at Kamper Park following the race. Volunteers may assist with:

* Distributing water, soft drinks, food, snacks and pet-friendly treats to participants and their dogs;
* Keeping food and beverage tables stocked and organized;
* Helping maintain a clean and welcoming area

Volunteers may select a Shift Option (please select one in the questions):
* 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. (Peak finish Time)

* 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. (Late finish & Cleanup)

This role requires standing, lifting, and working outdoors.

The second shift option is a great opportunity for those "over achievers" who want to participate in the race, but volunteer afterwards!
