Thursday Set Up Team High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

August 27, 2026

Details

- Will assist in setting up the venue prior to the event.

- Possibly including but not limited to, lifting up to or above 50 lbs., climbing ladders, using sharp instruments, repeated squatting and stretching, and being exposed to heat & high temperatures or other inclement weather conditions.

- Volunteers will help unpack and move boxes, set up areas with the necessary items, hang corporate sponsor banners and lights, move flats of drinks and water jugs, put up signage, set up barricades, cones and fencing, and other necessary tasks.

Friday Set Up Team High Priority

Saturday Tear Down Team High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- Will be changing garbage bags in bins that may have been missed on Friday night, hauling bags to roll off dumpster with a provided wagon, and cleaning up garbage in the parking areas across Shiloh and throughout the event that may have been missed on Friday night.

- Will be helping to clean and pack any TrailNet items which will return to the storage unit.

- Will take down any remaining banners, lights, or signage left from Friday night and prep them for packing and storage.

- Will help any remaining vendors organize items for pick up or load up their items for transport.

- May be asked to deliver items back to vendors on Saturday or following week, and confirm with staff delivery is completed.

Front Gate Team High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- There are multiple positions on this team. Please indicate if you have a preference for ticket scanning & banding, cashier, or gate attendant. An attempt will be made to assign you to your listed position, but you must be willing to shift positions as needed.

- Ticket scanning & banding - Will work either as a ticket scanner or bander for people who already have tickets, both digital and physical.

- Ticket scanning & banding - Must be comfortable using technology and have a smart phone where the ticket scanning app can be loaded for use.

- Ticket scanning & banding - Must bring phone to shift with a full charge for scanning tickets.

- Ticket scanning & banding - Will need to scan each guest's digital ticket or collect their physical ticket for reconciliation at the end of the event.

- Cashier - Will work as a cashier at the Zoo’s entrance windows selling digital tickets to people who are purchasing tickets at the gate, and will be responsible for banding the guests they interact with for admission.

- Cashier - Will check in and obtain signatures of guests on the Will Call List, and will be responsible for banding the guests they interact with for admission.

- Cashier - Must be comfortable using technology for the point of sale system to sell tickets and process credit cards.

- Cashier - Must be able to count back change without a calculator for cash transactions.

- Cashier - May act as a runner between cash office and cashiers, cash office and scanners, cash office and raffle sellers.

- Gate Attendant - May work at volunteer sign in table assisting other volunteers sign in and out of assigned shifts, providing volunteer wristbands, and helping direct volunteers to area for shift and lead volunteer to check in with for their shift.

- Gate Attendant - Will be positioned at the entrance gate to help ensure guests do not bottle neck inside the entrance slowing down other incoming guests. Will direct guests forward toward tables with tasting cups.

- Gate Attendant - Will be positioned at the exit gate to ensure guests do not leave the venue with alcohol in their cups or open alcoholic beverage containers.

Games Low Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- Monitor, set up and tear down games provided. May include beer pong, corn hole, Jenga, Tetris, etc.

- Ensure pieces are all available and ready for the start of each new game.

- Responsible for taking down games at dusk and ensuring all parts are accounted for and stored properly.

- May need to help change out empty water jugs on water dispensers.

- This position may require some repetitive lifting of 25-45 lbs

- Will also act as a floater for any of the other positions if someone needs a break or an area is short handed.

In or near pavilion.

Rovers High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- Change out empty water jugs on water dispensers at the water station.

- Delivery of ice from ice trailer or freezer to beer vendors as needed with a provided wagon or hand truck.

- Check and change garbage can bags around the venue then haul full bags to roll off dumpster by the east side gate using a provided wagon.

- Will deliver needed items to the VIP area or from the VIP area back to the pavilion.

- Heavy and repetitive lifting will be involved.

- It will be necessary to make rounds to brewers to check ice needs and check all garbage cans in the venue on rotating 30 minute intervals. Will work in tandem with other volunteers.

- Will act as a floater for any of the other positions if someone needs a break or an area is short handed.

- Will check brewer needs - overflow buckets and rags.

- Will help maintain cleanliness of tables for seating by food trucks.

Silent Disco Medium Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- Check in guests to the Silent Disco area by handing them a set of headphones.

- Ensure all guests relinquish headphones before they exit the dance area.

- Wipe down headphones thoroughly with sanitizing wipes.

Tap Pullers High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

THIS POSITION REQUIRES CURRENT RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SALES & SERVICE (RASS) CERTIFICATION.

At the start of shift, you will be assigned, by the volunteer lead, to a brewer or vendor to assist them throughout your shift.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

- Pulling beer at 6 oz per glass
- Monitoring ice and notifying rover volunteer of needs
- Keeping area tidy
- Engaging with guests
- Encouraging guests to vote for their favorite beer of choice
- Reporting highly intoxicated guests to staff, volunteer leads, security or BPD on site.

RASS CERTIFICATION TRAINING - Local in person training organized by TrailNet happens 2 times this year and will be $15 per person - must attend a training or an on-line course prior to August 21st and provide evidence of training completion if valid certificate is not on record with Billings TrailNet.

Tasting Cup Distribution Table High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

- Will hand out silver tasting cups to general admission guests.

- Will assist in keeping bottle neck from forming at entrance gates by directing guests as needed.

- Will answer questions about the event. (locations of water stations, toilets, non-alcoholic drinks, etc)

VIP Event Medium Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

THIS POSITION REQUIRES CURRENT RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SALES & SERVICE (RASS) CERTIFICATION.

- Supporting setup and maintaining of area – including decorating, maintaining music in background, delivering ice, wiping down tables and chairs, throwing away garbage, changing out garbage bags and arranging to haul it to roll off dumpster with a provided wagon.

- Serving food or alcohol – depending on the caterer's needs and requests.

- Will be serving wine or non alcoholic drinks to guests.

- Cleaning up the area during the event – Participating in the tear down of the event – cleaning and packing TrailNet’s items and moving them to the storage room in the pavilion, transporting garbage bags to roll off dumpster with a provided wagon.


RASS CERTIFICATION TRAINING - Local in person training organized by TrailNet happens 2 times this year and will be $15 per person - must attend a training or an on-line course prior to August 21st and provide evidence of training completion if valid certificate is not on record with Billings TrailNet.

Wine & NA Drinks Server High Priority

Details

THIS POSITION REQUIRES CURRENT RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SALES & SERVICE (RASS) CERTIFICATION.

- Will be serving wine or non alcoholic drinks to guests. (water will be available at the water station)

- Cleaning up the area and ensuring garbage bags are taken to roll off dumpster as needed.

- Helping to unpackage and repackage beverages as needed.

- Understanding bottles of wine are not to be opened until they are needed in case they are unnecessary and can be returned to the winery.

- Helping to move remaining beverages to the pavilion at the end of the event for pick up on Saturday morning.

- Reporting highly intoxicated guests to staff, volunteer leads, security or BPD on site.
