Details

Helping with Packet Pickup the day before the race. Volunteers will either assigning bibs or hand out shirts.

If you are assigning bibs, you'll need to have RunSignUp's free RaceDay CheckIn app (instructions to follow). If you are using your own smart phone, we will have a guest wifi password so you aren't using your data plan.

Course Guards

Race Course Guards on 2nd and 3rd Avenues

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Course guards ensure the safety of runners by preventing traffic from entering the course (streets are also barricaded) & to cheer on runners.

Check in between 7:45 and 8:15 to get a safety vest, stop sign and course guard assignment. Travel to your guard position before the 9am race start. Course guards on these streets guard for both races: the 5K (starts at 9am) and the street mile (starts at 10am). You'll be done about 10:15 or 10:30. When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and stop sign. Collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!

Race Course Guards on Clark Avenue

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Course guards ensure the safety of runners by preventing traffic from entering the course (streets are also barricaded) & to cheer on runners.

Check in between 7:45 and 8:15 to get a safety vest, stop sign and course guard assignment. Travel to your guard position before the 9am race start. After the last walkers pass, the course sweeper will come through. You may be asked to walk over to Yellowstone and help support that intersection. When the sweep comes through on Yellowstone, you are done (~10am). When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and stop sign. Collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!

Course Marshal

Course marshals ensure the runners stay on course by directing the lead cyclist and front pack of runners to turn at the correct locations.

Check in between 7:45 and 8:15 to get a safety vest and course marshal assignment. Travel to your position before the 9am race start. You will remain in place for both races: 5K starts at 9am and the Mile starts at 10am. After the last walkers pass, the course sweeper will come through and you are done (~10:30am). When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and stop sign. Collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!

Finish Line Course Guard

Details

The Finish Line Course Guards ensures the smooth flow of traffic at the finish line and guides the First Place M/F finishers from each race to the award table to claim thier prize.

Check in between 7:45 and 8:15 to get a safety vest and instructions. Travel to your guard position before the 9am race start. You will remain in place for both races: 5K starts at 9am and the Mile starts at 10am. Guide finishers around the Credit Union building so they can pick up a finisher glass if they want one. Keep finishers from cutting through onto 31st St. Help single out the top male and female finisher from each race and guide them to the awards table (coordinate with timer). After the last walkers pass, at around 10:30am, you are finished. Return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!

Details

Pass out awards to runners. Look at results page for race, or get results information from the timer who is located near by. Top 3 finishers in each age group are entitled to a medal. Top male and female finisher in each of the 2 races will get a special top prize. The finish line course guard will help identify those top finishers in each race.

Water Table

Course Sweep Person

Details

Using a vehicle with your flashers on, you will 'sweep' the 5k and Mile courses.

Check-in with volunteer coordinator at 8 am. for instructions. 'Sweeping' starts at 9am. Follow last participants in 5k. When you reach Clark Ave, as you pass course guards you can let them know they can head back to the check out location (Wise Wonders). Continue following the 5K runners onto Yellowstone. As you pass guards on Yellowstone, let them know they are finished. By that time it is nearly 10am and the Street Mile is starting. Wait at the Division course guard station for all the Milers to pass, then follow the last miler on 3rd, heading east to 28th St, then west on 2nd as they head to the finish. Return to check-in area to collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!

Check in with task coordinator between 8:00 and 8:15 for instructions and vest. Travel to the 5K course start (2nd Ave & 30th St) to be in place by 8:50am (race starts at 9am). Lead the 5k runners around the course and to the finish area. Course map on race website. Return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks!
