Run Course - Set Up Medium Priority

Details

The 5K Course will be marked and flagged on Friday evening prior to the event. Set up will include painting turn arrows, marking/flagging potential hazards, and some signage.


We will need 6 volunteers from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

Details

The bike rack/transition site will be set up on Friday evening prior to the event. The rack/stands will require 4-6 able bodied adults or young men to assemble. Bring gloves!

We will need 6 volunteers from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. with one or two helpers to re-check the course on race day.

Bike Course - Set Up High Priority

The bike course will be marked and flagged on Friday evening prior to the event. Set up will include painting turn arrows, marking/flagging potential hazards, removing debris and loose gravel from corners, and some signage.
Please bring brooms!

We will need 6 volunteers from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm with one or two helpers to re-check the course on race day.

Details

Registration will occur Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Volunteers will assist with organizing swag bags, t-shirts, and other race gear, checking waivers and registration information, etc.

We will need 6-8 registration volunteers from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday and 6:00 - 7:30 am on Saturday.

Kayak Parking - Race Day Medium Priority

You must be 16-75 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

Participants will exit the water and volunteers will "park" the kayaks for them in a designated area. These volunteers will be required to remain at their post until all kayakers/participant have exited the water - aprroximately 9:45 am.

We will need 6 volunteers to carry and park kayaks from 7:45 - 9:45 am on Saturday

Details

Participants will pick up their kayaks AFTER all kayakers have exited the first transistion area. Proper race number identification will be required.

Three volunteers needed 10:00 am- 11;30 PM.

Kayak Course Aides - Race Day High Priority

Details

Kayak assistants will be in the water before the race begins and until all kayakers have exited the warer. This is primarily to keep racers on course and notifiy Search & Rescue of any emergencies. Must furnish your own kayak and wear proper safety gear. Locations are indicated below.

Details

These volunteers will be directing runner traffic during the race. The course is easy to follow, but we don't want anyone getting lost. Fatigue may also be an issue, so these volunteers need to be alert to aide runners if needed. The stations are listed below.

Start Gate - 2 volunteers
Corner of Indie (Lake Road) and Illinois
Corner of Illinois and 2nd Street
Corner of 2nd street & Dupuyer
Finish Line - 2 Volunteers

8:45 - 11:45 am Saturday (Or until all racers have finished.)

Bike Course - Race Day High Priority

Details

The bike course is on a state highway. Volunteers will be needed to direct and stop traffic, direct participants, and be alert to identify any potential emergencies and notify EMS of racers who might be in trouble. Stations are indicated below.

You must be 21-70 years old to volunteer for this task.

Details

Parking will be at the corner of Dupuyer and Lake Road. Cars must be parked prior to race start to avoid interferrence with the bike and run courses. Cars will not be allowed to exit this site until all bikes are off the course.

Three shifts will be available:
6:00 - 7:30 am
7:15 - 9:00 am
8:45 - 10:15 am (Or until bike leg is completed)
