Details

Volunteers are needed to help prep race kits for club coaches to pick-up in advance. Duties include counting and collating t-shirts, swag bags, and race bibs.

Please arrive by 1 pm. Volunteers should be able to leave by 4:30 pm! If a few can stay to pack up cars, that'd be great.

Direct cars into runner parking lot, keeping traffic flowing, filling lot in an orderly fashion. Be available to answer questions, without blocking traffic. Please arrive early and report to the volunteer tent for your neon vest. Then report to Eddie Wooten to receive your location

Details

Manage the Coaches Parking Lot. Help coaches to their assigned spots. Direct families and runners their assigned areas.
Report to Larry Hughes for instructions. Coaches only are allowed to park in the Coaches Lot. It is imperative that no other cars drive in the lot for the safety of the kids.

Wave Start Medium Priority

Details

Pick up your volunteer vest at the Volunteer tent in the vendor area. Report to finish line area immediately to assist with collating runner food. Then report to start line at 8:30 AM to help with the waves.
Wave Start Volunteers will hold a rope at the start of each wave to separate the kids in the waves. You will make sure they don't start running before they are supposed to.

Display wave designations, hold ropes, and help runners find starting corral. Assist with crowd control at start line.

Once you are done, you may go back over to the finish line to assist with handing out the bags of food to the runners after they finish.
Also assist with crowd control so that spectators do not go into the finish line shoot.

Set Up/Take Down

Details

Help to set up and break down the finish line. Move race chute fencing between races.
Please also assist with hanging the sponsor banners with zip ties on the finish line fencing.
When finished, see if they need help with runner food.
Then at 8:30 see if they need help with wave start
When finished, help with crowd control at finish line chute to prevent spectators and runners from entering. Direct participants to runner's lot.

Details

Set-up food area inside finisher chute. Organize food and dispose of boxes/cardboard to keep finish line area clean and free of obstacles. Keep non-runners away from food - food is only for runners wearing a bib.
WAVE START: When you are done with runner food, report to the finish line at 8:30 to assist with holding one of the ropes at a wave start. You are helping to keep the kids separate so they do not all start at once. Once complete, go back over to the finish line and help to give out runner food to finishers ONLY

Keep the finishers moving to avoid congestion in the chute. Do not allow parents to enter Finish Chute - it is for runners only!!

Water Station High Priority

Details

Report to Jeremy Haskins for instructions. You get to report directly to the water station. You do not need to come to the race Hub.
Set-up tables and water coolers at water stop. Fill cups half full with water and hand out to runners. Clean up cups and trash during and after event. Encourage and cheer runners!

Arrive by 7:30 AM before roads close that will block access to this point.

Get the vendor map from Registration area or Volunteer check in area. Wear a neon vest.
Greet vendors and show them where to set up booth. Answer questions and provide support as necessary. Thank vendors for their role in making the event a success. Vendors must provide own tables and chairs.

Run the race with the kids. Check on them, encourage them, make sure they are safe!

If you can arrive early, please assist with setting up the race site. Report to the GO FAR trailer for instructions. Set up sponsor banners, etc.

**NOTE - Registration Volunteers are required to attend a 30-minute training Friday night before the race (6-6:30 pm) OR Saturday race day at 6:15 am.**

Duties: Accept new registrations, receive money, and hand out race kits for both 5K and Fun Run from 6:30-8:40. Answer questions, help runners find teams in coaches' lot, stay positive and encouraging. After registration closes, volunteers will move to the 5K start line to help with wave start.

Details

Please pick up your volunteer vest at the Volunteer tent. Then report to the finish line area to set-up tables and sort medals for 5K runners and Fun Runners.
Once the medals are set up, please go assist with Runner Food at the finish line. Hand out medals throughout both races. Assist runners who are unstable or sick. Keep finishers moving through the chute to avoid congestion. Congratulate runners! Help clean-up after race.
Remember that roads close at 7:45am so please arrive ahead of that.

Adults only (must be approved by GO FAR). Ride along side the runners to ensure safety on the course. Encourage runners. Be aware of injuries and move injured runner to the side immediately and call authorities.
