Volunteers for this position will be responsible for holding each end of the finish line banner that the first 5K and Half Marathon runners will run through as they pass the finish line. When volunteers are done holding the banner, they can help hang medals on runner's necks as they pass over the finish line or collect timing chips.

We will be using NON-disposable timing chips for this event. Therefore, volunteers for this position will be responsible for collecting timing chips from runners after they cross the finish line. Chips not collected will cost the race an additional $3.00/chip.

Hospitality Table - Post-Race Food and Drinks High Priority

Volunteers for this position will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the post-race hospitality table. This table will have post-race snacks, foods and drinks for runners, volunteers and young kids. Additional responsibilities will include helping participants pick up bags dropped up during bag check.

Course Monitors High Priority

At least 24 more volunteers needed.

Details

Course monitors are crucial to participant safety. This is our single greatest need aside from water/aid station volunteers. Volunteers for these positions will be located at various positions throughout both the 5K and/or Half Marathon courses. Primary responsibilities include giving directions to runners; ensuring participants are safe along the course; and reporting any emergencies as they arise.

Location

Various locations along the course. Assignment location options will be given to each volunteer by race director and/or volunteer coordinator. It is preferred that a minimum of two people staff each position.

Water/Aid Stations Coordinator High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Responsible for ensuring all water/aid stations are set up, staffed, stocked and tore down.

Bag Check - Pickup Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Responsible for making sure personal items checked in by runners are safe and returned to the correct person during pickup. This will require checking BIB# against number on bag.
