Details

Responsible for selling raffle tickets for the Ride for Knowledge throughout the race. Volunteers should circulate throughout the starting and finish lines.

Chip Pick Up

Details

Distribute race chips and ties to all runners and walkers; make sure race bib number and chip numbers are the same. Important for the timing of the race.

Race Chip Remover

Details

Remove all chips from the runners and walkers shoes after they cross the finish line. Congratulate racers as they finish. Make sure that ALL chips are turned in at the end of the race.

Water Stops

Details

Pass out water to runners and walkers; pick up trash around around station; CHEER loudly for the runners and walkers as they pass by. Need at least 3 people. Need to be at water stop 10 minutes before race starts

Distribute food and water to all runners and walkers; make sure that the food and water table at the finish line stays stocked and neat for the runners.

Take photos of all runners as they run, walk, and participate in all aspects of the race

Help the race director distribute the final awards. Make sure that all awards are set up neatly on display for all racers to see after they finish

Move around campus and pick up trash, signs, tables, chairs, etc

Course Sweeper

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Will monitor the racers and make sure that everyone is running safely. The Course Sweeper will also follow behind the last runner and let the water stop volunteers know when the race is over and they can begin cleaning up. The Course Sweeper will report any injuries to the appropriate response team. The Course Sweeper will have access to the Gator to make work more efficient.
