Pre-Race

Bus Comedian Medium Priority

Details

We will have a shuttle service and would like some (clean) funny guys or gals to get the riders pumped up. Play jokes, etc. Stage someone to gun down with a water gun outside bus, play jams etc.

This is a try-out position.
1-2 people per shift

AM will use jokes to help inform riders about their day and help remember caution items for the Farm portion. Things like don't touch the electric fences...or do, but you'll only do it once.

PM will be the final cherry on top, thank them for coming out, engage the kids. Make sure they want to come back.

Set Up Packet Pick Up & Bag Drop High Priority

Setup Packet pickup at the Event Barn and Bag Registration Area. 9am-9:30 2 Volunteers will be assigned Bag Drop Protection and Transportation. If you have security skill set please let us know.

Security Officers High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Course Set Up - w/ Vehicle High Priority

Course Set Up Foot/Bike

Course review and signage where the atv can't go (single track sections)

Mountain Bike (strong) High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

We need one mountain biker that can stay ahead of the fastest runners to make sure the volunteers are ready. There are a couple steep rocky climbs, but moderate difficulty.

Mountain Biker (Can complete the course but no rush)

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

This person will follow behind last walkers. They will relieve each of the volunteers and make sure they complete their clean-up tasks. This person will need to be able to direct volunteers on all items needed to be done by each team. This person needs to have the ability to ride singletrack and climb rocky terrain, complete the entire 5k, but will not have speed pressures.

Parking

We will need a couple bodies in the busiest parking lot to direct parking.

Course Maintenance 2/18

Help vendors set up and break down at finish line 11am-2pm

Final Course Sweep (Mountain bike)

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Do a final sweep of the course to make sure volunteers cleaned up, removed signs and ribbons, and verify Farm, Haw River trails, and Saxapahaw public areas are left better than they were found.

If volunteers do what they are supposed to do it should be easy, a nice trail and farm ride mid-afternoon.

Gator -Bulky Course Pickup

Details

Travel to each aid station to collect bulky items from course (tables, chairs, Water jugs, garbage bags, signs etc).
