SUSTAINABLE JC EVENT VOLUNTEER High Priority

You must be 9 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

You will be contacted by the race director on the week of the event with details on the volunteer position, time, and location.

Location

Meet in front of the water fountain in Lincoln Park, Jersey City, NJ.

Athlete and Crowd Support High Priority

Minimum met.

Details

1. Direct athletes at the staging area so that they can easily find registration area, packet pick up area, personal items area, port o potties, and the start line. 2. Provide athletes and attendees with answers to questions on the course, race app, and online information. 3. Direct non-athletes to best viewing areas. 4. Direct athletes to timing tent if there are questions about their outcomes. 5. Direct athletes at locations TBD on the course so that they go in the right direction. 6. Direct all attendees to post-event activities.

Awards and Support Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

1. Hand out finish line medals to each athlete upon crossing the finish line. 2. Hand out awards during the awards ceremony3. Break down awards ceremony area and pack items back into the trailer. 4. Hold up finish line banner for overall male and female winners

Food and Beverage Distribution Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

1. Set up food and beverages at the staging area. 2. Distribute to athletes when they complete the event. 3. Clean up, pack leftovers, break down equipment, and pack back into the trailer

Personal Items Area Management High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

1. Receive and place personal items in a secure area. 2. Return personal items to athletes using bib system3. Keep personal items area dry and secure.

Race Day Clean and Pack Up Medium Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

1. Breakdown all equipment at the venue and at the direction of staff pack back onto the trailer.
