Your job is to make sure our volunteers check in and get the information they need to do their jobs. In addition to passing out their "working papers," you will be distributing buttons to the heads of the sections so that people know who to go to to ask questions. You must have a basic understanding of all the tasks so that this runs smoothly!

Set Up Aid Station at Halfway Point High Priority

We need some people to meet us at the the Kitchell Road entrance to collect things that need to be brought to the Loantaka Way parking lot halfway point, and then set up the table, water, and cups ... and start filling them up for when the runners! Arrive NO LATER THAN 7:00. Everything must be in place by 9:00 am ... the runners get the halfway point FAST!!

Parking Attendants High Priority

Details

We need a few people to direct people from Kitchell Road to the South Street Parking lot where they will be shuttled by bus back to the race. 7:00am-11:00 am

2 people should be set up at Kitchell Road, and 2 should be set up at 475 South Street, where we will have satellite parking set up.

Age Group Awards Coordinator

We need someone to run point on coordinating our age group awards with the timing company. The bulk of this job happens as people cross the finish line and times get registered ... you will be in charge of the actual medals for our age group winners (which are glasses this year), coordinating with the Eyewitness News Personality handing out the awards, as well as coordinating with the timing company so that awards are ready to go by 10:00 am!

Aid Station High Priority

Details

There is a parking lot at the aid station along Loantaka Way. Once the last participant is through, it can be taken down, and volunteers can be driven back to the start/finish line at the Kitchell Road entrance to enjoy the post race festivities. 9-11:30 am (or until you see the "I'm The Last Runner" sign come through the aid station). Remember that there are two start times, so you'll need to be there for the 9:00 race (runners should be though the aid station by 9:30), and then you need to be back by 11:10 (runners should be through by 11:30ish).

Pick up Moe's Burritos High Priority

If they can't deliver, we will need someone to go to Moe's in Florham Park to pick up our burritos! Must be on premises at 10:00 am, and Moe's is 10 minutes away from the park!

Sponsor Passport Drop-Off High Priority

Participants are receiving passports that will be stamped by all of our sponsors. Once they've gotten them stamped, they need to return them to YOU so they can be entered into a raffle to win a helicopter tour over New York City! Your job is to make sure every square is stamped with the correct stamp, and make sure all the info is filled out so that we can contact them if they win the prize!

Pacer (The Last Jedi) High Priority

We need someone recognizable to take up the rear so we know when the last participant is through!! This means you have to complete the whole 3.1 mile course, but really, really slow... and carrying a sign that says "I'm Last" so that the aid station knows when it can break down! You'll start the course at the back end of the Fun Run (11:00ish) and finish whenever the last walker finishes (figure about an hour)

People have to get their medals somehow, right? This job is perfect for someone high energy that can show enthusiasm as the exhausted runners make their way through the finish line!

Once runners have crossed the finish line, the Medal-Giver-Outers will usher them towards the water, tortillas and bananas. This station needs to be manned starting at about 9:15 and until the last runner comes through the finish line (10:15ish)! This task needs to be filled for the FUN 5K which starts at 11:00, so plan on being back at 11:30 for Round 2, and being done by 12:30ish!

Raffle

There are about 20 prizes this year, and we want to make sure we can keep track of them and explain to people how to distribute their tickets, since it is being done tricky-tray style. These folks need to set up the items & keep an eye on them, as well as be there during the raffle to hand prizes to the Eyewitness News Personalities doing the announcing!

Moe's Burrito Fiesta High Priority

Moe's is supplying us with chicken, beef and vegetarian burritos at the end of the race, but we need people to make sure the right burritos go to the right person, and to make sure people buy wristbands for $5 if they didn't pre-purchase their burritos! This is a job for a detail-oriented person to make sure everyone who ordered a burrito gets one!

Craft Station Low Priority

This year, we are looking for some kids to help younger kids with a Cinco de Mayo themed craft! The crafts will be easy to put together, but we'll need a few kids to oversee the table!

Course Cheerleaders

Details

We need some cheerleaders on the course at about the 1.2 mile mark to make sure everyone goes the right way. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, bc we don't want people to get lost!
9:00 am, at the latest .... and you stay there until the last runner comes through, holding an "I'm The Last Runner" sign at about noon. There will be a break between races, from about 10-11:00. Best access to this point is from the Loantaka Way parking lot (it's about a 1/4 mile walk to the paved intersection, which is where you'll be standing)!
