Task: Course instruction for efficient turn at North End of park, i.e. lots of yelling.

You'll need to be loud, clear, and repetitive with your instructions "Turn Here". Remember, you're hearing yourself 200x's, but the Runners are in the Zone and need to clearly hear your instructions so they don't miss a turn or hit a trip hazard.

Remember to be on the lookout for Runners with head-phones and yell the reminder, "Head phones are not allowed on the course."

NOTE: You'll be in position for both the 20K (starting at 9:00am) and 5K (starting at 12:30pm). The turnaround for the 5K is in a different position than the 20K. We'll be out to help get you in place and reset the safety cones prior to the 5K start.

Expect the majority of the 20K Racers from 9:00 - 10:30.
Expect the majority of the 5K Racers from 12:30 - 1:00.

Water Stop - Grove 5 Back

Task: Hydration of the Runners and Cheering!

The most important task is to get setup fast and have every possible water cup full at every moment. The 2nd most important task: Don't over-fill the water cups. Each cup should only be filled 1/3 full. Next, be sure to extend your arm fully when handing off a water cup - if you don't, you may well end up wet from a spilled cup.

Please use the rakes provided to clean up any cups or trash on the ground. Note: Be careful not to be use the rake when runners are approaching!

Break Time: You'll have a break from approximately 11:30 - 12:45 as we transition from the 20K to the 5K race.

Expect the majority of the 20K Racers from 9:00 - 11:00.
Expect the majority of the 5K Racers from 12:30 - 1:30.

Supplies:
- 40 One Gallon Water Bottles
- 2 Eight-Foot Tables
- 1500 Cups
- 1 Rake
- 6 Trash Liners
- 3 Trash Containers

When this Water Stop closes at 1:30pm, please tear down the station, fold tables, bag the trash and set all equipment on the side of the road by the lake.

20K Task: Congratulate the 20K Finishers and direct all Finishers into the Refreshment Tent - i.e. lots of yelling.

5K & 1 Miler Task: Congratulate the Finishers and hand them a Space Blanket, Cow Bell and Dog Tag. Then, direct all Finishers into the Refreshment Tent.

Also, you'll have a very large number of kids in this event; so we'll need to take special care to make sure they navigate the path to the Water Station and the Festival Area.

Marshall - Baseball Turn & 1/2 Mile Turn

Task 1: Course instruction for efficient Left Turn at the intersection of Johnson Drive and the Bike Path - i.e. lots of yelling.

You'll need to be loud, clear, and repetitive with your instructions. Remember, you're hearing yourself 200x's, but the Runners are in the Zone and need to clearly hear your instructions so they don't miss a turn or hit a trip hazard.

Remember to be on the lookout for Runners with head-phones and yell the reminder, "Head phones are not allowed on the course."

NOTE: You'll be in this position for the 20K (starting at 9:00am) only. Expect the majority of the 20K Racers from 9:30 - 10:30.

Task 2: At 11:15am, you can leave your post, take a break, and then head over to the 1 Miler as a Course Marshall at the 1/2 Mile Turn. This is a different position than the 20K Turn. We'll need you in place at the 1/2 Mile mark by 12:15pm. The 1 Miler race is super short, so you'll be able to head back to the Festival Area by 12:45pm.

You'll have a very large number of kids in this event; so we'll need to take special care to make sure they navigate the turn correctly for the trip back to the Finish.

Shuttle & Parking

Lot C - Shuttle Stop

Details

Task: Directing participants to Parking Lot C - and directing them from the parking lot to the Shuttle Service.

20K Participants will begin arriving at 7:30am. 5K & 1 Miler participants will arrive around 10:30am.

Shuttle Service: Two Shuttles will ferry participants between Lot C and the Registration/Festival Area. Volunteers assist with any questions or help participants in need with the Shuttle Service.

Note: Lots A, B, and C are the only lots that will have open access to River Road. All internal Johnson Park parking areas will be closed to traffic by 8:00am, so anyone parking in these areas will be locked in place until the park roads reopen at 2:00pm.

Directional signage will be in place to direct Participants between Parking Lots and to the Registration Area.

Bounce House Attendant

Task: Keep an orderly procession of kids going in/out of the Bounce House.

Only 10 kids should be inside at any 1 time.

If there are kids waiting in line to enter, time each session at 6 minutes. If there aren't kids waiting, you can let them stay in longer.

Gear Check

Details

Task: Ensure the safe keeping and correct match of gear check bag & participant bib.

Drop Off: The Van will be sectioned into areas numbered by increments of 100 and labeled on the van walls. We won't have a hanger system in place; so participant bags should be stacked in the corresponding areas.

You'll need to ensure that each participant's bag is tagged with the bottom tear strip from the race bib - adhered using a safety pin. Be cautious of fragile contents in bags.

Pickup: When participants approach to pickup their gear bags; ensure that you have an exact match between the participant's bib number and the original tear strip from their bib, which serves as the bag tag.

Problems: If you have any challenges or missing bags - send the participant to the Registration Coordinator in the Registration Tent.

Details

Task: Post-Race food distribution to 5K, 20K and 1 Miler Participants - with a keen eye on the controlled distribution of snacks.

We have pre-planned for approximately 1400 Participants - and that is exactly what we now have registered for the event. So, with the potential for Race Day Registrations, we're going to be very tight on supplies of Food and Snacks. It will be critically important to control the distribution of Snacks during both events.

Food & Drink Available:
- Bottled Water
- Hot Chocolate
- Chicken Broth
- Soft Pretzels (1500)
- Bananas

It will be very important to fill each Hot Chocolate and Chicken Broth cup only 2/3s full. Please do not over-fill the cups, or we will run out of supplies.

Remember, you will have 2 waves of Participants: the 20K wave about 10:30-11:30am and the 5K & 1 Miler wave at about 1:00pm.

Note: This is a 2 Way Water Stop, so Runners will be approaching from both directions. It will be critical to steer clear of oncoming runners to avoid any trips or collisions and to call out whether you're offering water or Gatorade.

When this Water Stop closes at 11:45am, please tear down the station, fold tables, bag the trash and set all equipment on the side of the road by the lake.
