Starting in September, we need your help in distributing flyers and postcards to area businesses, local fitness centers, post on library and community bulletin boards, and at local events in the following towns (Must have own means of transportation):

Group 1: Robbinsville, Hamilton, West Windsor, Plainsboro, Cranbury, Lawrence, Bordentown, Monroe

Group 2: Princeton, Hopewell Borough, Pennington, South Brunswick, New Hope, Lambertville, Yardley, Ewing, Montgomery.

Yard Sign Brigade High Priority

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

In September, place signs in designated locations in the following towns (Must have own means of transportation.):

Pre-Race Day help needed!

Task Group A: Monday, Oct. 19 1-3pm – Chip and add safety pins to bibs. If needed, make sets of pins. Count and organize t-shirts by size and type.

Task Group B - Tuesday, Oct. 20 10am-12pm Packet Making for Run Group

Task Group C - Wednesday, Oct. 21 3-5PM Packet Making for Walk Group

Sort bibs and t-shirts into the Packets for registered participants. Label packets and organize by group (run or walk) in alphabetical order.

Set up pumpkin dash decor, Halloween decorations, and large décor installations in the court yard as well as directional items throughout race course.

Greeters will be stationed at various parking lots directing attendees to the entrance of 502 Carnegie Center Drive. Guests have to go through the building to get to the courtyard and the registration gazebo. Greet guests, use FAQ provided to answer any guest questions and be welcoming!

Pumpkin Dash Helpers

Set up start and finish line, prize table and help distribute prizes. Group kids by height if needed. Help ensure kids don't wander off from parents. Direct kids and parents to other activities in courtyard.

Water/Candy, Trophies Table Set Up, & Costume Contest Judges

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Water and Candy Table Setup

- Arrange water and candy on small table near the starting line and throughout different points in the courtyard

Awards Table Set Up and Costume Contest Judges

- Help set up awards table, unpack trophies, setup trophies by race type, help create real-time list of award winners based on results which can be used for award distribution during awards ceremony.

- Walk around the race course and courtyard observing participants in costume. Hand out finalist tags to anyone you feel had gone above and beyond with their costume. Prizes will be awarded after the race.

Water Station

Details

Setup water table and hand out water cups to runners and walkers as they pass. location of stations based on racecourse map.

Clean up once race is over. Bring all items at water stations to building 502 courtyard. Pack loose water bottles in containers. Empty water from gallon containers into road drains or in bathroom.

7 am: Table Set-Up and Wipe Down - Set up tables with two chairs each for registration, crafts, t-shirts, and pumpkin dash. Race Day, wipe down tables and chairs if wet and cover with tablecloth as needed

Road Team and Traffic Team Captains High Priority

Day before race: Attend the "Orientation to the Course" and course taping and signage session with the Race Marshal the day before the race to learn the course and define it for participants. Also be in attendance day of event.

Location

502 Carnegie Center Drive, West Windsor, NJ - we will begin this session at the starting line and travel through the Carnegie Center grounds along the course.

Racecourse Traffic Team High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

On Race Day, Saturday, October 25, will guide/direct cars & stopping the flow of traffic into the Carnegie Center prior to the start of the race and during the race until given an all clear by the Race Marshal. The Traffic Team is “at the barricades” to protect the participants of the 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk. In addition, they are stationed at the end of the race where the Walkers and Runners intersect to ensure safety of walkers.

Gather at 502 Carnegie Center Drive to connect with the Race Marshal to receive racecourse traffic assignment and location.

Racecourse Road Team High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

On Race Day, Saturday, October 25, clarify the racecourse and guide/direct the runners as to where to go, alerting them about slippery areas if applicable, and cheering them on!
The Road Team will ensure the safety of the runners and helping to create a successful and positive racing experience for the runners.

Collect all decorations such as pumpkins, witch hats, decorative lawn stakes and anything attached to trees and pack them in containers provided. Racecourse Directional Signage Collection

Vehicle with storage space needed! Drive or walk the racecourse and pick up all directional signs and decorations. Bring them to building 502 front entrance. Pack them in containers provided (if not too large) and label accordingly. Place items at the side of front entrance for pickup by HomeFront truck. (please do not block the doorway)
