Race day tasks

Food Table Setup Medium Priority

Details

Arrive early — 7am — to meet the food delivery and help set up the area. Bagel box and coffee dispenser setup and banana cutting are among the tasks after table setup is done. Closing off the food area until runners come in is the other helpful task - though hungry spectators occasionally gain access before the top runners cross the finish line. This is fine for hot drinks, but first crack at bagels should be for runners.

Water table High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Water table volunteers organize the runners water table at the approximate halfway mark of the course.

Location

Meet with organizer at show mobile and then carpool over to the location with enough time to setup water and cups for thirsty runners.

Help with Parking Medium Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Assist the park personnel with parking all runners cars as efficiently as possible.

General Setup Help High Priority

Details

Help on race morning with moving, lifting, finding, etc. many hands are needed for making the race morning happen smoothly.

Race Day Bib and Shirt Pickup Helper Medium Priority

Details

Race morning starting at 6:30. Come to the meadow lot and volunteer in the show mobile distributing bibs and shirts to runners. Early shift can be for runners planning to run the loop. Late shift is for people not running that year.

Sometimes we don't know what to volunteer for but want to throw our names in the volunteer ring. Thank you for reaching out. By late March/early April we know more where additional volunteers are needed and can reach out to you at that time. Until then if you have a question please ask us at leathermansloop@gmail.com and we will get back to you. Closer to the race the volunteer spots may be filled but we still love to get contact information for potential volunteers in case some of our assigned volunteers have a change of plan.

Photography Volunteer Medium Priority

Details

We deploy a team of volunteer photographers out to various cool spots on the course. You don't need to be a pro, just willing to take lots of photos. Some of our photographers have used their phones while others have pro gear. Plus everything in between! The best photographer is the one that is there and gets the shot. Being there and putting yourself out there is half the battle!

Location

Various spots on the course - some places can get runners outbound and inbound. Some can be for the more mobile while others can be driven to.
