Greet athletes, direct to appropriate registration/packet pickup line. Distribute registration packets to athletes, explaining the packet contents. Distribute t-shirts, bib, and check athlete bags.

Finish Line and After Party Volunteers

Assist in the management of the finish line and after party by distributing medals, water, and food.

Course Pointers

Details

Volunteer Course Pointer are critical safety and support elements during the event. While Course Pointers are assigned to placements along the race routes, they are NEVER intended to direct traffic in any way. Law enforcement and/or traffic management devices and signs are responsible for ALL traffic management functions.

Course Pointers are in place to serve the following functions:

1. Ensure participants remain on-course, particularly in potentially confusing intersections.
2. Serve as additional eyes/ears on the course and points of contact for race Staff and Support.
3. Awareness for residents and motorists who may seek to ask questions like “what is going on today” or “is there a better way to go to avoid the route”
4. Special verbal commands to participants. In some cases Course Pointers are placed in locations that may call for special notifications. Examples include: “RIGHT TURN AHEAD” in a section with difficult sightlines.
