Unified Run/Partners

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers will assist race participants during the Unified Run. Unified Run does not take place until after 11:00 am, prior to that time you will be placed with a general volunteer group.

Location: Near runner warm-ups and starting line

Time and Movement Requirements: 7:00am – 12:30pm (Unified Run begins after 11:00 am). Mostly standing/walking

Course Security High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers will be stationed along the entirety of the course to provide supervision, security, and most importantly encouragement and enthusiasm to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere on the course.

Location: Throughout Bush Park along the race course

Runner Check-In High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers will assist runners by placing matching wristbands on both the runner and designated guardian when they arrive for their race. Must pay attention to detail, enforce rules clearly and respectfully, and provide base information to guardian.

Location: Under the tent at the far side of the stadium

Runner Warm-Ups

Rabbits/Turtles High Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers will assist by either leading or ending an individual race throughout the day. Rabbits will stay at a pace ahead of the front runners in each race and Turtles will stay behind all runners to end the race. Rabbits and Turtles are ensure all runners are accounted for, so attention to detail and ability to adapt pace for each race is imperative.
Each race (approx. 18 individual races) requires multiple Rabbits and Turtles and volunteers are expected to participate in multiple races. You can run as either role in a race, based on preference and need (please note in your registration details if you are not comfortable leading races).

Location: Race course, dictated by age group. Volunteers will be provided a map of the courses and each course is clearly marked.

Time and Movement Requirements: 7:00am – 12:30pm. Races start ~8:00am and end ~12:00pm. Volunteers are expected to complete each race they begin.

Starting Line

Volunteers will assist in guiding groups of runners from the runner warm-up area to the starting line for their scheduled race.

Location: Starting line in stadium

Time and Movement Requirements: 7:00am – 12:30pm (first race will begin around 8:15am). All standing, fast-paced.

Finish Line/Medals

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers will assist at the finish line for all races, providing support and encouragement to the runners as they finish, including handing out medals, directing runners to the water station, assisting runners in exiting the course, and directing runners to the corral.

Time and Movement Requirements: 7:00am – 12:30pm (first runners will come through around 8:30am). Includes standing and some light walking.

Volunteers connect runners with the Shuttle Team and ensure all runners are banded and bibbed correctly. Includes talking to guardians, encouraging runners, and problem-solving. Must pay attention to detail and enforce rules clearly and respectfully.

Recycle Team

Volunteers will assist with upkeep of the recycling and trash receptacles including garbage pick-up, collection, and disposal. Volunteers may need to direct people to the available trash and recycling receptacles. PPE will be provided.
