We’ll be meeting at Settlers Cabin Park in the evening to clear vegetation from the race course before Hell Hath No Hurry.
The work is simple. Not easy. There’s a difference.
Volunteers will walk sections of trail carrying weed whips and trimming back overgrowth so runners can actually see where they’re putting their feet on race day. Expect weeds, briars, sweat, uneven ground, and the occasional reminder that the park does not care about your feelings.
We typically start at 6:00 PM and work until sundown, usually around 8:00–8:30 PM.
This is a solid workout. You’ll hike, carry gear, swing a weed whip, and do something useful while you’re at it. It’s also a good way to give back to the trails, the park, and the community that lets us do this ridiculous little race every year.
Bring water, work gloves, eye protection, and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
The trail doesn’t clear itself. Sadly.
