Details

Group Leaders (5-10 people) - these volunteers are responsible for the boys and girls in each of the five (5) age groups after your welcoming and opening announcement. Once the opening announcement is over the Community Coordinator will deploy the participants into groups based on grade level and the Volunteer Group Leader will lead them in stretching. While stretching and warming up, the Volunteer Group Leader should discuss the value to eating properly and exercising if they are comfortable. This is all positive reinforcement and encouragement. This will be the first race for many of the participants!
• Note: Stretching should be less no than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes.

Starter High Priority

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

this person is at the start of each race and blows the air horn acknowledging the start of that race. The Starter must coordinate the starting of the race with the Time Keeper and Results Keeper so everyone is in the right place and accurate time is kept. In addition, the starter should make sure all kids have their shoes tied and their names on the tear-off portion of the race bib. They are also reminding the kids of our Code of Conduct, confirming that they know where the course goes and where to turn before blowing the starting horn.
