Volunteers will mark off participants as they come to pickup their race packet (Race bag, bib, and shirt if qualified). Distribute and maintain inventory of extra race shirts as they are distributed to participants who missed the guaranteed shirt deadline.

Friday Set Up at Cypress Gardens Medium Priority

Volunteers set up for the big event, including signage along course, mark spaces at vendor village, tables and chairs, traffic cones, etc.

Event Day Set Up High Priority

Details

Volunteers set up final items needed for race day, such as the stage, BEC tents (race refreshments, packet pickup), etc.

Water & first aid station Medium Priority

Location

About halfway through the course, volunteers will hand out water and help if someone gets hurt or needs assistance/first aid. Two volunteers are needed at each mile marker.

Race Course Cheer Station

Details

Volunteers at the cheer station will cheer the participants on and motivate them as they make their way through the course. We will provide cow-bells at each station. This would be a great opportunity for some to take pictures of runners to hand into our communications department at the end of the race.

Race Timing Assistance

Assist race director with set up, timing, collecting chips from race bibs.

Runners at Sponsorship Village

Volunteers will be on standby at the race village to be runners and assist vendors as needed.

Traffic Control

Manage refreshments in the hospitality cottage before and during race. Cleanup after race.

Vendor Village Setup

Details

Assist businesses and organizations that have a booth in the vendor village set up and tear down their booth. Tasks could include helping them unload their vehicle, setting up and taking down tent. Volunteers would also be responsible for placing signage around vendor village.

Shuttle Driver

May 4, 2024

Details

Before the race, drivers will pick up participants and grant winners at Celanus parking lot and drive them to Cypress Gardens. After the race, driver will take participants and teachers back to Celanus.
