Pre-Race Packet Pick Up

Details

Volunteers needed to set up packet pick up area and coordinate Race Packet Distribution on Friday, August 25, outside at the Greater York Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteers will verify registered participants, distribute race bibs, goodie bags, and t-shrits (if registered by t-shirt deadline).

Volunteers will register new participants, assign bib numbers, and distribute goodie bags. (Online and Paper Registration Forms).

Summerfest evening outdoor concert will also be going on at this same time!

Race Day Packet Pick Up

Details

Volunteers will check in participants and hand out their goodie bags with participants' race t-shirt (if registered before the cut off deadline), race bibs/timing chips, etc.

Volunteers will answer any race day questions or point participants in the direction of someone who can help answer the question.

Race Day Registration

Details

Volunteers will help set up Registration Table.

Volunteers will take money and registration forms for Race Day Registrants and hand them their bibs/timing chips/safety pins.

Water Station

August 25, 2018

Details

Volunteers will set up Water Station tables along the 5k and 10k race routes and remain at their Water Station through the duration of the race to hand out cups of water to race athletes AND to cheer them on!

Water Station materials will be provided.

When the last athlete has past the water station, volunteers may clean up station area and return to the McCelvey Center and sign out for the day!

Race Course Monitor

August 25, 2018

Details

Volunteers will stand at course turn locations along the 5k or the 10k race route to direct race athletes in the right direction AND to offer encouragement!

Any age may volunteer for this task, however, at least one volunteer at each location must be 18 years of age or older.

Safety vests will be provided.

Start/Finish Line Refreshments

August 25, 2018

Details

Volunteers will set up and prep the Refreshments Area prior to the race.

Volunteers will distribute refreshments to the race athletes as they finish.

Volunteers will help clean up Refreshments Area post-race.

Awards Table

August 25, 2018

Details

Volunteers will help set up Awards Table Area prior to the race.

Volunteers will aid the Race Director in handing out medals, certificates, door prizes, etc. at the end of each race.

Post-Race Clean-Up

August 25, 2018

Details

Volunteers will help break down tents, tables, pick up and empty trash, etc. at the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony.

Some volunteers may be asked to drive thru race course and pick course-turn signs and return to the finish line area.
