Course marshals help make Glow Dog Glow safe, fun, and easy to follow for every runner, walker, volunteer, and four-legged friend on the course!

Course marshals are stationed at key locations along the route to help direct participants, watch for hazards, monitor course safety, encourage runners and walkers, and help manage any non-race traffic or pedestrian activity where the race route crosses another area.

Arrival Time: 6:30 PM
Marshal Meeting: 6:45 PM at the Start/Finish Line
Marshals in Place: 7:15 PM

Safety yellow vests will be provided and must be worn while stationed on the course.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Help us prepare race shirts for our Glow Dog Glow participants! Volunteers will assist with unpacking, sorting, folding, and stacking shirts by size and style so they are ready for packet pickup. It is an easy, social task and a great way to be part of the behind-the-scenes prep for race night.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and be ready to work as a team in a fun, fast-paced environment.

Finish Line Medal & Water Bottle Distribution

Details

Finish line volunteers will help welcome Glow Dog Glow participants as they complete the race at the Humane Society of Dickson County. Volunteers will be positioned near the finish line to distribute finisher medals and water bottles as runners and walkers come through.

Volunteers will also help direct participants back toward the main race area, answer basic questions, and remind them to enjoy the post-race activities before heading home.

Finish Line Food

Details

Glow Dog Glow participants will have a few simple snacks available before and after the race. Volunteers will help keep the snack table stocked with bananas, oranges, and possibly Goldfish for runners, walkers, and families.

As participants finish, volunteers will restock snacks as needed, keep the table neat, and help make sure everyone can grab something quick before heading back to the main race area.

Water Station

Water station volunteers help make sure Glow Dog Glow runners and walkers stay hydrated as they make their way through the course.

Volunteers will be stationed at the parking lot of the Tennsco Community Center to set up water, hand it out to participants, keep the area tidy, and clean up cups after the runners and walkers pass through.

Race Day Set Up & Break Down Crew

Details

Help us turn the area around the Humane Society into a race course for Glow Dog Glow, then help us return everything back to normal after the race! Volunteers will help load and unload equipment, move barricades, place course materials, assist with setting up the start line truss, and get the course ready before runners, walkers, families, and dogs arrive.

After the race, this crew will help break down the start line area, collect course materials, move barricades back, clean up the race area, and load equipment and supplies so everything is ready to be returned or stored.

This crew is a big part of making race night safe, organized, and ready from start to finish.
