Water Safety Team - Paddle Craft High Priority

Details

You're the eyes on the water. You'll be the ones keeping an eye on the swimmers, steering the ones that may drift a bit off course, be ready with some water or other assistance as needed. You'll be assigned a section of the course to watch over.

You need to bring your own kayak, paddle & flotation. If you have extra flotation devices to keep with you it's always a good idea. We'll supply you with some water & a snack or two for the swimmers (and yourself).

The water safety team needs to be prepared to be on the water by 7a. We'll have a safety team meeting from 7-7:30a, then get ready. The first race will start at 8a. Everyone will be off the water by 11a. If you can't be there for the entire time but still want to volunteer, please reach out to me & let me know.

Details

You're the perimeter. Whether it's pontoon-, ski-, paddle-, sail-, john-, house-.....if it ends in -boat we would love to have your help. The power boats help ensure our course is safe from other boats and help enact emergency plans if needed.

Shirts, snacks, warm-fuzzies, there's a lot of good stuff in it for our boat operators!

The logistical wonders providing service with a smile! You're the ones with the magic markers, the spreadsheets, the pens for the waivers and the ones peddling the goods.

Make sure all the swimmers have their swag, know their numbers, sign the waiver & know when they need to be where. Wield the marker & make sure race numbers are legible & clear - and that everyone has one. Help the timers make sure the chip process is smooth.

There will be goodies to sell, cards to swipe and smiles to give away for free. Move the product!

Details

You're the ace of orders. How quickly can you put a table or tent up, tear it down & throw it in a truck. We need a few people around to make the site race-ready & a few to help stash everything before we can get to the after-party where I buy you a beverage.

You'll have to be flexible - willing to jump from task-to-task, not bend like gumby - since we often do multiple things at once!
