Race Site Setup

Become the "race crew" responsible for making the course and post race area come to life! Look forward to the feeling of accomplishment after seeing what you've helped create.

If you are a non-participant traveling to the race with an athlete, this would be a good opportunity to allow them some alone time and mentally prepare for their race. They will thank you later and so will we.

Certified Lifeguard

Details

Lifeguards with current certification will be compensated $75. Please plan to be there for the practice swim that opens at 6:10 am.

Water Safety/Kayaker/SUP

You must be 15 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

The water safety fleet act as the eyes and ears of spotting issues during the swim. Swim Coordinator and medical staff will give you a thorough pre-race briefing on proper procedures. There can never be too many watercraft or people supporting out on the water during the swim.
Please plan to be at the practice swim that opens at 6:10a.

Swim Exit

Assist swimmers in getting their bearings while exiting the water and send them in the direction of their bike.

Transition Area

Details

Transition is the fenced in area containing all the bikes, racks, clothing and excitement. You'll guard this barricaded fortress, secure its entrances from spectators, and direct athletes to their designated spot.

Bike Course Support/Flagger

Do people often comment on your great sense of direction? Share that gift with racers as you point those doing the Sprint to the finish line, or those doing the Olympic distance to their second loop.

Hydration Station #1

If you want a quick duty, this is the one! You'll be prepping cups for those leaving T2 and starting the run. This is a water-only station. (P.S. -Don't Mess With Texas- clean up those cups, too)

Reminder - You'll be on your feet so wear comfy shoes. It will be hot! There will be plenty of hydration handy, but BYO hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

This is where the real work begins! We start the disappearing process by gathering signs, dismantling the finish line and transition area, pick up tables and coolers, and leave no trace just like the Boy Scouts. There is an odd urgency to beat the clock and see how fast we can say "buh-bye." Join in the fun!!
