Relay #1 Supervisor & Coordinators

Details

There should be 2-3 Relay Coordinators at each Relay Spot

One coordinator will be given a sheet with all the team bib numbers on it. As a runner approaches, the coordinator should call out the Bib Number so their waiting teammate can hear it and then put a check next to that bib on the sheet.
The other coordinator should be responsible for keeping Relay Zone open and making sure runners who are waiting stand off the trail until their teammate is approaching with the baton

Location

Walker Ranch Park, 12603 West Ave, 78216 (location). Limited parking at Trailhead, overflow at Walker Ranch Senior Center.

Try to arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts.

Start line Setup

Details

Assist with setup of the start line. Tear down after all runners have started.

Location

Finish Line

Location

FINISH: Mainland Trailhead, 8241 Mainland Drive, 78240 (location). Park in Wal-Mart parking lot. (No parking at trailhead.)

Parking Marshal at Mainland Trailhead

Details

Secure the parking lot at Mainland Trailhead. Direct runners to park in the Wal Mart lot.
Allow only vendors and volunteers needing to unload to enter the lot.

WATER STOPS

Course Setup (race day)

Details

Assist with setting up race day water stops. Water station will be self serve.

COURSE MGMT

Bike Support

February 2, 2025

Details

Lead Bike - Biker must be able to bike a full marathon and keep up with lead team.

SAG Bike - Biker will follow the last team and inform Relay volunteers they are finished when they come through that station.

Course Marshal

February 2, 2025

Details

Direct runners on the correct path during the race.

Location

Hardberger Park (2 CMs) 1 CM to make sure runners continue on Salado Creek Trail into Hardberger Park and NOT go down Volker Lane. 1 CM to make sure runners stay on correct trail once inside Hardberger Park (Only needed from 7:30am-10am)

McAllister Park (1-2 CMs) when runners exit McAllister Park under Wurzbach Parkway make sure runners continue down Salado Creek trail to do the turnaround before heading towards Hardberger Park. (Only needed from 7am-8am.)

Setup at the Finish Area

Details

Help setup the finish line area, arch, PA system, etc.
Setup the photo back drops.
Set up the trash and recycle can around the finish area.
Setup tables for finish area for medal distribution, SARR table, food prep etc.
Setup tents for the post race party.

Packet Pickup

Baton Pickup

Details

Each baton should have a number on it that corresponds to a bib number
Each team gets one baton
When a runner approaches the table, give them the baton that corresponds to the bib number they are wearing
