COURSE MARSHAL

Course Marshal #1 - Start/Finish line area

Details

50K/15K/5K - You will direct runners at the start of each race to the left on the Blue Loop at the entrance to Mud Creek, about 1/10 of a mile from start line. You will also be responsible for directing runners out of Mud Creek towards the finish line. Please have your cell phone with you.

Course Marshal #2 - Get Loose Trail/Blue Loop/Near Start

Details

15K/50K - this position is approximately .10 mile from the start/finish line just off the Blue Loop. This position is at a critical point at the beginning of the race where runners will be making a hard left off the Blue Loop on to the Get Loose trail . You will also need to block this entrance from the 5K start. Please have your cell phone with you.

Course Marshal #3 - 50K/15K Near Golf Course High Priority

Details

50K/15K - This positions is approximately .60 miles from the start/finish line across from the golf course, and is at a critical point on the natural trail where the Get Loose trail gets close to its self. Your job will be to direct runners in the proper direction on the path. Please have your cell phone with you.

Course Marshal #4 - 5K/50K split on Red Trail Low Priority

Details

You will be responsible for routing the 50K runners towards Mosquito Lake and the 5K runners to continue on the Red Trail. There will be directional signs in place towards each course and one place prior to the CM4 position indicating a course split is ahead. Please take your cell phone with you

Course Marshal #5 - BuckhornRd/Blue Loop Crossing

Details

Your responsibility will be to make certain runners cross over Buckhorn Road back to the Blue Loop and back onto the natural trail. There will be a police officer and and a water stop near this area, you will be sending runners across the street to continue on the Blue Loop, where another course marshal will be stationed. Please have your cell phone with you

Co-located with aid station #2 and a police officer will be positioned on the course.

Course Marshal #6 - 5K Course @ Paved Blue Loop to Natural entrance

Details

5K - This position is approximately .75 miles from the start/finish line across from the golf course, and is at a critical point on the Blue Loop turns to pavement down a steep hill, goes over a creek bridge and then reenters the Blue Loop to the left. Your job will be to direct runners in the proper direction off the pavement onto the trail where they will merge up with the 15K Loop. Please have your cell phone with you.

Course Marshal #7 - Buckhorn Rd Crossing near porta-potties High Priority

This position is located .10 mile from the start/finish line. Your responsibility is to help direct runners across the street during the 5K run. A police officer will also be at this crossing to ensure safety of the runners. Please have your phone with you

WATER STOP

Aid Station #1 - iRun

Details

You will assist runners by providing and pouring water for runners and encouragement on the course, as well as direct 5K/50K runners to the Red Trail and 15K runners to the Blue Loop. This water stop is may be accessed from the Police Station parking lot. Please have your cell phone with you.

First shift will pick up an aid station supply kit and bring to the assigned location.

SARR Road Training Team - Aid Station #2

Details

This water stop is at Buckhorn Road near the Dog Park. You will assist the SARR 2024 Winter Road Training Team to work this aid station. Provide water and encouragement to runners on the course. Please have your cell phone with you.

Upon arrival you can proceed directly to your assigned station and check in with your Aid Station Captain: Edie, 210-872-2382. Captain will send check in information to the volunteer coordinator.

FoMP - Mud Creek - Aid Station #3

Details

Provide water and encouragement to runners on the course as well as direct runners to the Mud Creek entrance. This water stop is located near the soccer fields. Please have your cell phone with you.

First shift volunteer will take the aid station kit to the assigned location.

Upon arrival you can proceed directly to your assigned station and check in with your Aid Station Captain: Marjesca, 210-780-0830. Captain will send check in information to the volunteer coordinator.

50K SARR W2R5K Aid Station

Details

Responsible for setting up and maintaining the 50K aid station and bag drop. Be prepared to help folks change socks, let them sit and rest for a few minutes and getting them whatever they need. Upon arrival you can proceed directly to your assigned station and check in with your Aid Station Captain: Jennifer, 210-414-5259. Captain will send check in information to the volunteer coordinator.

Assist with removal of *yellow* tagging and course markers along the 5K route. There are portions of the 5K route that are shared with the 15K/50K course that should not be removed.

50K Course Teardown

Assist with removal of reflective tagging and course markers along the 50K route. Teardown will begin at the specified time, however, will not be completed until all runners have completed the course, nor should be done in view of the final runner(s).

Details

You will keep an eye on recyclables and change bags as needed. You will also help make sure that the recycle able aren’t contaminated or mixed in with landfill trash. We take recycle offsite and a member of sustainability committee will coordinate the effort.

We supply gloves, bags, and trash grabbers.
