Water Stop #1

Provide water and encouragement to runners on the course. Familiarize yourself with the course so that you can assist with questions from runners. This is a non-running position.

Will be right off the road where the trail crosses on leaping fawn and its a little bit over a mile from the finish line.
The relay will go by 1 time per loop as they make a left to go onto the trail. The Half marathon will run by 2 times as they go on their loop course.

Will be right next to Buckhorn Rd where the trail crosses the street. Runners will pass by 2 per loop for the half marathon.

It will be next to turkey Roost pavilion and half marathoners will run by twice per loop but fairly quickly since it will be near the turnaround
Total of 7 opportunities to get water and gatorade for each loop.

COURSE MGMT

Trailer Team

Details

Assist team with unloading trailer, setting up race, start/finish line area, food area and water stops. Also assist with Vendor setup.

Start/Finish: race arch, timing clock, generator & sound system. Tables, finisher towels, bin & ice for towels, gloves for volunteers handing out towels.

Need 2 tables at the water stop one on each side of the trail, tent, 6 water coolers (3 water, 3 Gatorade at each table), pitchers
Need one water stop at the start finish line (one table) which will also be the baton pickup table.
Need on table at start finish for medals
Need a bin for ice and water for the towels
Need the PA system at the start

Bike Support

Details

Make sure runners stay on the correct course! Course map available at volunteer check in and on runsignup page. Key phone numbers (race director, medical) available at volunteer check in table. Please have your cell phone with you.

Bikers will be sent out on the course before the run starts to ensure that all signage is in place. They can report any issues to the race director. NOTE: It is best to text and state that you are bike support volunteer. Should you have the need to report a runner injured or down contact the safety coordinator.
Bike support should also keep track of how many runners are on the course when we get close to the end (around 11AM)

Course Teardown

Details

Assist team with tear down including start/finish line area and water stops. Pickup signs on the route when the last runners are off the course. Remove the route arrow stickers from the course. Start with trash cleanup, tearing down tables, etc. Check with timing to see when the last runners before removing signs from the course.

Course Marshall Responsibility will be let the runners know that they will be going straight when they first see them coming from pavillion 2 and continuing on leaping fawn. The next time the runners come by them they will be going towards the finish line.

Will direct runners coming towards them to make left into the trail at leaping fawn for all runners. As the runners make their way around Course marshall will direct runners to turn left into the trail for the Half Marathon loop course.

Course marshall will first see the half marathon Runners come towards them from leaping fawnand will tell them to go straight on the course towards albecken pavillion.
The second time the see the half marathon runners they will tell them to go left towards leaping fawn and the finish line. The relay will also turn left towards the finish line.

Details

Responsible for icing down the drinks. Runners will start coming for food and drinks about 7:30 so make sure drinks are ready in advance. You will be in charge of icing down the drinks and refilling ice chests if more drinks are needed. Ensure trash cans are emptied as needed and put in new trash bags.

Mark Bibs at Food Serving Station

Details

ALL should have a bib in order to get their meal. Mark the bib with a C with a marker that will be provided. Volunteers will get their bibs from the volunteer coordinator. Vendors and sponsors in attendance should also get a bib from volunteer coordinator. Only one meal per person.

Baton Pickup

June 15, 2025

Details

Volunteer coordinator will give you the batons when you check in. After getting the batons, proceed to the start line where tables will be set up with water/Gatorade and medals. As runners arrive for the batons, give them the baton number that matches the runners bib. Collect batons after the race and return to the volunteer coordinator.
