Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up (PPU) High Priority

PPU will take place from 3-7pm on Friday, October 6. Responsibilities include giving bibs, race shirt and packet to runners, registering runners, and answering questions about the race.

Race Day Volunteer Positions

Water Stop - Brackenridge HS Bridge High Priority

Details

Responsible for setting up water stop, filling water cups, handing water to runners, keeping trash off of the course, and tearing down water stop after race.

You will drive your vehicle directly to the setup location approximately 1 mile from King Wm Gazebo.

Brackenridge High School Bridge. Accessible from Eagleland Dr.

Course Marshal High Priority

October 7, 2023

Details

Responsible for directing runners on the course, and assisting with ADA accessibility when needed at Riverwalk ramps.

Finish Line - Medal Distribution High Priority

October 7, 2023

This volunteer task is full.

Details

Responsibilities include taking medals out of plastic bags, and handing out medals to each runner who crosses the finish line.

Food Management High Priority

Details

Responsibilities could include cooking food on an open grill, setting up food area, preparing and serving food, and keeping food area fresh, clean, and stocked for all runners as they finish the run.

Course Floaters

Details

A floaters responsibilities include helping where needed on the course in case a volunteer doesn't show up. Responsibilities also include keeping the course and event area clean. Alerting Race Director and KWA staff if trash cans are full or port-a-potties need attention.

Lead Bike Medium Priority

October 7, 2023

Details

You'd be responsible for leading runners from the start to the West side of the Arsenal street bridge where they enter the river at mile .28, then you would go to Guenther St. bridge and await runners return to the street from the river at Guenther Street, then you would lead them from Guenther to King William to the finish line. You will NOT enter the riverwalk, just street level.

Race-Day Packet Pick Up and Registration High Priority

Details

Responsibilities include giving bibs, race shirt and packet to runners race day morning. This position is also responsible for registering runners who have not yet registered for the race if the race has not reached capacity.

Beer Servers High Priority

You must be 21-75 years old to volunteer for this task.

Must be 21 years of age and preferably TBAC certified

SAG/Sweep High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Your responsibility would be to follow the last runner/walker to the finish line. You would start sweeping at 8:40 and your passing the water station and road closures will signify that the course may be broken down. You will need a charged cell phone to communicate with Race Director.
