As a Volunteer Parking Attendant, your core mission is to efficiently manage vehicle traffic to ensure a smooth start to the 5K event. You will greet drivers with a friendly yet authoritative demeanor, providing clear, simple directions to their assigned parking areas. Your most critical task is to prioritize event participants, directing all runners, walkers, and staff to the reserved event parking lots. Crucially, you must also be prepared to politely but firmly redirect any general park visitors or members of the public who are not participating in the 5K to the Dog Park overflow lot until the main lot re-opens after the event ends (approximately 10:00 AM). Throughout your shift, maintain constant awareness of pedestrian and vehicular safety, reporting any concerns immediately to your coordinator. Your focus, clarity, and assertiveness are essential for a safe and successful event.
